Leaks and rumors: status updates

We reviewed every article about leaked or rumored game details. Each now opens with an update saying what the company has officially confirmed or contradicted since, and unconfirmed details are attributed to the leak or report they came from. Ten headlines now say “Alleged” or “Claims.” Two of these updates note that the original rumor turned out to be wrong: the $150 price claim and the October announcement dates in the leaked voice notes.

Sourcing updates

In these articles we replaced citations to gambling-industry websites with the underlying court records, official statements or news reports. Where a detail was reported only by one of those websites, the article now names that site in plain text. In several articles we also removed details that we could not confirm with a second source.
