Update (October 2026): Fontaine arrived with Version 4.0 on August 16, 2023. Furina, the five-star Hydro sword user at the center of its story, became playable in Version 4.2 on November 8, 2023. Genshin Impact has since reached Snezhnaya with Version 7.0 in August 2026. Our original June 2023 report follows.
Concept art of Focalors appears to have leaked online. Focalors is the Hydro (water) Archon who rules Fontaine, Genshin Impact’s upcoming region.
The art surfaced as part of one of the largest Genshin Impact leaks so far. According to Dot Esports, more than 270 pieces of concept art for playable characters appeared over two days, June 19 and 20.
The batch includes characters tied to Fontaine and the Fatui Harbingers. One Fontaine character we have covered since is Clorinde, with her banner history, skills and kit explained. It gives fans their fullest look yet at the Hydro Archon.
Why this may not be the final design
Leaked material like this is unofficial. Concept art often changes before a character is released, so the final design and abilities could turn out quite different. A separate Genshin Impact leak revealed anniversary rewards.
When was Fontaine due?
At the time of the leak, Fontaine was expected to arrive with Version 4.0 in August 2023.
Before that, Version 3.8 went live on July 5, 2023, and closed out the Sumeru cycle with a summer event. It brought back the five-star character Eula in a rerun and added new outfits for Klee and Kaeya, but no brand-new characters.
Where Genshin Impact is now
Version 7.0 added Snezhnaya as a new region. HoYoverse’s Version 7.0 update notes list maintenance for the update starting on August 12, 2026.
The current update, Version 7.1, followed on September 23, 2026. It added two new playable characters: Vesna, an Anemo (wind) damage dealer, and Vodyanitsa, a Hydro character who provides healing and support. HoYoverse has also detailed Honkai: Star Rail 4.6, with new events and when 4.7 is expected.
HoYoverse takes a leak site to court
In February 2026, Aftermath reported that HoYoverse was suing to take down the HomDGCat fan wiki, according to documents filed in a Georgia court.
According to Dexerto, the filing accuses the site’s operator of asking beta testers bound by confidentiality agreements for test files. The claims listed include copyright infringement, trade secret misappropriation and breach of contract.
