UFC 5 Release Date, Platforms and Features

Update (October 2026): EA Sports UFC 5 came out on October 27, 2023, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, the only platforms EA’s help page lists for it. It joined Xbox Game Pass Ultimate through EA Play in January 2025. The October 2026 Game Pass wave adds Battlefield 6 on October 13. Its successor, EA Sports UFC 6, launched on June 19, 2026.

When did UFC 5 come out, and on which consoles?
UFC 5 released on October 27, 2023, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
According to EA’s help page, the game does not support cross-play or cross-progression. In other words, PlayStation and Xbox players cannot play each other, and progress does not carry over between the two.
Who is on the cover?
Before the full reveal, EA released a short teaser featuring a fighter whom many fans guessed was Alexander Volkanovski. That guess proved right.
According to Xbox Wire, Volkanovski appears on the standard edition cover alongside Valentina Shevchenko, while Israel Adesanya fronts the Deluxe Edition.
What UFC 5 changed
- A new engine: UFC 5 is the first game in the series built on EA’s Frostbite engine, and it runs at 60 frames per second.
- More realistic damage: A revamped system shows facial damage, blood and sweat more realistically, and injuries affect how a fighter performs.
- A higher age rating: EA says UFC 5 is the first game in the franchise rated M for Mature.
The Deluxe Edition added three days of early access, so owners could play before launch. It also added Fedor Emelianenko, Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson as extra fighters.
Game Pass and updates after launch
UFC 5 came to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and the EA Play List on January 14, 2025, for Xbox Series X|S and the cloud, as announced on Xbox Wire.

The next game: UFC 6
EA revealed EA Sports UFC 6 on April 27, 2026, and gave it a June 19, 2026, release date on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, Insider Gaming reported.

Ultimate Edition pre-orders included seven days of early access. EA’s UFC 6 page now lists the game as available, with content updates as recent as September 2026.
Reported but unconfirmed: UFC 6 on PC
Insider Gaming’s Mike Straw reported in April 2026 that a PC version of UFC 6 was in development. At the time, he wrote that there had been no confirmation of when, or if, it would be released.
