CD Projekt RED has more games in the works than anyone outside the company knew about. The disclosure came during CD Projekt’s post-earnings discussion on September 3, 2026, when Nielubowicz told analysts the studio currently has two unannounced projects in its development pipeline. That’s a specific claim — development phase, not early concept work — but it’s also where the confirmed information runs out. CD Projekt hasn’t said what either project is, which franchise it belongs to (if any), how big its scope is, or when it might actually surface. For now, they’re just two more line items on a development slate that was already full.

The Witcher 4 Remains CD Projekt’s Biggest Development Project

The Witcher 4 is still the studio’s largest active undertaking by a wide margin. As of the company’s latest disclosure, 519 developers are working on the game, with CD Projekt continuing to target a 2028 release window. That headcount alone puts it well ahead of anything else CD Projekt has publicly discussed — useful context for just how much is already happening inside the studio before you even factor in the two unannounced projects, which are being built on top of that workload, not instead of it.

Cyberpunk 2 Development Is Also Expanding

Cyberpunk 2, the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, currently has 184 developers assigned to it. CD Projekt hasn’t given it a release date. Outside of the headcount and its status as a sequel, the company hasn’t shared gameplay details, setting, or anything else about the project — so there isn’t much more to say about it yet.

The Cyberpunk side of the business isn’t limited to the game sequel, either. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is also moving forward as a separate anime follow-up — a reminder that CD Projekt is running multiple Cyberpunk-branded efforts at once, on top of whatever the two unannounced projects turn out to be.

What Could CD Projekt’s Mystery Projects Be?

This is the question every CD Projekt fan is going to ask, and the honest answer is nobody outside the company knows. CD Projekt hasn’t said whether either unannounced project belongs to The Witcher, Cyberpunk, or something else entirely. Attaching either one to a specific franchise right now would be speculation, not reporting.

That won’t stop people from speculating anyway. CD Projekt’s Witcher pipeline is already moving fast — a remaster, a new expansion, and a full sequel all landing within about two years — and that pace makes it tempting to assume more Witcher content is on the way. Tempting isn’t the same as confirmed, though. As of this earnings call, there’s no stated link between the two unannounced projects and either of CD Projekt’s flagship franchises.

CD Projekt Already Has a Busy Release Pipeline

Whatever the mystery projects turn out to be, they’re joining an already crowded calendar. CD Projekt’s own H1 2026 update lays out one major Witcher release for each of the next three years:

That’s a franchise showing no signs of slowing down — The Witcher 3 alone has now sold more than 65 million copies, and the broader Witcher series has passed 90 million copies sold in total. Whether either unannounced project slots somewhere into that pipeline, or sits completely apart from it, is something only CD Projekt currently knows.

For now, the studio has confirmed two more projects exist and nothing else about them. Everything beyond that is guesswork until CD Projekt decides to say more — the same pattern it followed with The Witcher 4 and Cyberpunk 2 before either was named.
