The Final Fantasy 7: This Thursday, Square Enix officially ended the service for Final Fantasy 7: The First Soldier, putting a stop to one of the Final Fantasy 7 spinoff titles. After its release in November 2021, the mobile Final Fantasy game only lasted a year and a few months.

Square Enix had previously stated that the game didn’t measure up to the Final Fantasy experience the publisher had wanted to provide. For those who haven’t played the game all that much, The First Soldier was a free-to-play battle royale game set in the Final Fantasy universe.

Players had to command SOLDIERS to combine parts of Final Fantasy with the battle royale method in this game, which was set before the events of Final Fantasy 7. Some people found the game appealing, but there didn’t seem to be enough players.

Less than a year after The First Soldier’s release, in October 2022, Square Enix announced that service for the game would end on January 11, 2023.

They fired multiple shots at one of the test dummies after activating the gun, demonstrating that the Amped mechanism functioned as anticipated. Unsurprisingly, many people in the Apex Legends community have taken notice of this most recent Sentinel bug.

To test “novel technology,” the US government acquired control of a portion of the territory in the 1950s. The government was forced to rename the area the Olympic Exclusion Zone because it was contaminated and filled with “supernatural creatures” as a result, much to the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone in the future “Stalker 2.”

The player will take on the character of a nameless protagonist who succumbs to their curiosity. The main character accidentally gets trapped inside the Exclusion Zone while exploring its boundaries. In “Pacific Drive,” the main goal is to leave the Zone and learn all of its mysteries.

Pacific Drive Release Date

According to the game’s website, “Pacific Drive” will launch for PS5 and PC sometime in 2023. It is the first undertaking from Ironwood Studios, a new company that was established in 2019.

Developer Alex Dracott, who had previously worked with Sucker Punch Productions on the “Infamous” series, launched the Seattle-based studio. According to the Ironwood Studios website, the team comprises personnel who worked on games like “Halo Reach,” “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild,” and “Bioshock Infinite.”

Pacific Drive Gameplay

A run-based, first-person driving survival game is called Pacific Drive. It appears to be a rogue-lite game based on what is displayed in the trailer. In other words, the player continuously sprints down a road and receives improvements to aid in subsequent runs.

The player will be driving through the map for the majority of the game. Although you still drive the majority of the time, there are occasions when the player needs to go outside and fix their automobile or acquire materials.

The player will have to drive past a variety of hazards while dodging and swerving. A handful of these challenges, including floating pebbles or objects covered in goo, are depicted in the teaser. The player and the vehicle being returned to the starting location if the vehicle is damaged or rendered incapable of being driven.

Each run begins with the player inside a garage. They can pick which routes to run while in this garage. To make their runs last longer, they can also modify their vehicle. Armor plating, improved mobility, and other improvements are included.

According to the website, the vehicle “develops its idiosyncrasies and personality.” We can only wait to learn exactly what they signify. The garage has its improvements in addition to the car. The user can better navigate the routes by upgrading the garage, just like with the car.

The same as most roguelites. Every time, the paths are different and randomized. Players must constantly adapt to the changes as they arise because every run is distinctive in its way. You will discover more about the location’s past as you peruse the map, and you could even figure out how to escape.

Pacific Drive Trailer

The world got its first peek of “Pacific Drive” thanks to the reveal trailer that was revealed at the September 2022 State of Play stream. It starts with a car’s headlights slowly traveling down a dark road.

A speaker’s automatic announcement can be heard in the distance and reads, “Your location falls within the Olympic Exclusion Zone. If you can hear this announcement, you are intruding on official grounds. Take immediate flight.” Images of wild and abandoned vehicles depict a place in disrepair.

The primary vehicle pulls up to a little gas station, where it is seen to be a station wagon. A peek inside reveals that the driver has been using it as a workshop to keep the car in working order. An announcement announcing that an “instability front is approaching” suddenly takes over the automobile radio.

The driver hurries back to the car and accelerates out of a first-person. A montage of the numerous environmental dangers and creatures the player may encounter across several distinct biomes follows. Pools of what looks like acid erupts on the road.

In another image, a creature is seen tunneling nearby. On Twitter, Ironwood acknowledged that all of the content was live gameplay.
