This game is a turn-based RPG with some management features, much to its forerunner. Players command a squad of survivors riding in a massive tank that they will use to engage in combat with their adversaries.

The player and the adversary attack in turn, as is customary in turn-based RPGs. The enhanced Timeline Battle System determines the battle’s turn order in the game. The user can then instruct the Tank’s several turrets, each of which can launch a different attack depending on which character is in charge of the cannons.

The tank the player controls has a Managarm instead of a Soul Cannon. This new weapon has a similar destructive potential to the Soul Cannon. Of course, the cost of this harm is high. One of the Tank’s crew members must be alive for the Managarm to fire.

The sacrificed crew member was rendered ineffective until the next intermission phase by the Managarm as opposed to the Soul Cannon, which resulted in their death.

The redesigned path system in the game allows players to choose their course across the battlefield, and these intermission stages are a component of that system. Introducing an Airship in the game also gives the player extra path options.

They also added an entirely new Judgement system, which has various effects on the gameplay. The possibilities for players are Empathy or Resolution.

Resolution favors acts that prioritize the goal, but Empathy values the player taking care of the crew. These values are impacted by the decisions the player takes on and off the battlefield, affecting the tale.

The gameplay of the previous game has also been improved by various reworked systems, including dungeon diving, granting crew members’ requests, and more.

The events of the first game’s story occur a year later in this one. The youngsters, headed by Malt, defeated the Berman Empire onboard their tank, the Taranis, and are now enjoying the peace for which they toiled mightily.

That is until the Pharaoh asked the kids to assist him in looking into the Taranis. The Taranis suddenly came alive and went haywire during their inquiry, leaving a path of death and a rampage.

Malt is forced to board their former adversary, the dread tank Tarascus because some of their group are still within the tank. Malt and his crew must pursue the Taranis to save their friends and end its rampage.
