CONTROL Resonant Goes Gold, Physical Release Delayed to October 15
Remedy Entertainment has confirmed that CONTROL Resonant has gone gold, keeping its September 24 digital launch on track while pushing the game’s physical release back to October 15.
The change means players buying CONTROL Resonant digitally on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC will still be able to play on September 24 as planned. Those waiting for a boxed console copy will have to wait another three weeks.
According to Final Weapon, Remedy said it needs a little more time to deliver the physical version, but there has been no change to the game’s digital release date.
CONTROL Resonant Still Launches Digitally on September 24
The latest update does not amount to a full delay for CONTROL Resonant.
Digital copies remain scheduled for September 24, 2026, across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. On PC, the game will be available through Steam and the Epic Games Store.
The September release date was originally announced by Remedy in June, and the studio’s latest update now confirms that the game has reached gold status ahead of launch.
For most players, that means the existing release schedule remains unchanged.
There is also an earlier entry point for some PlayStation players. The PS5 Digital Deluxe Edition includes 48-hour early access, allowing buyers of that edition to begin playing on September 22.
The PlayStation version is listed for September 25 in New Zealand, while the wider digital launch remains September 24. PlayStation previously confirmed the platform’s release details alongside the game’s launch announcement.
Physical Copies Move to October 15
he delay applies specifically to physical copies.

Boxed versions for PS5 and Xbox Series X are now scheduled to arrive on October 15, creating a 21-day gap between the digital and physical releases.
Remedy has not announced any broader problem with the game or changed the September 24 digital date.
Instead, the studio said it simply needs additional time to deliver the physical edition.
That leaves players who planned to buy CONTROL Resonant on disc with two options: wait until October 15 or move to a digital copy and play alongside the wider launch in September.
The gold announcement also arrives at an important point in the release schedule, with just over a month remaining before the game becomes available digitally.
CONTROL Resonant Heads to Gamescom Before Release
CONTROL Resonant will also be playable publicly for the first time at Gamescom 2026, which runs from August 26 through August 30 in Cologne.
The appearance will give attendees a chance to play the game less than a month before its digital launch.
For now, Remedy’s updated schedule is clear: September 24 for the main digital release and October 15 for physical copies.
A Mac version is also planned for later in 2026.
So while physical buyers have picked up a short delay, CONTROL Resonant itself remains on course for its September launch after officially going gold.
