Poppy Playtime Chapter 3 System Requirements: Can Your PC Run Deep Sleep?

Update (October 2026): The PC requirements below are the ones Steam lists for Chapter 3 as of October 3, 2026. Chapter 3 has been out since January 30, 2024, and Chapter 5 followed on February 18, 2026. Mob Entertainment says the story is not over, and its co-op spin-off, Escape from Playtime, is due in Steam Early Access on October 21.

Poppy Playtime Chapter 3: Deep Sleep is a far bigger download than the chapters before it. Mob Entertainment asks for 60 GB of free storage on Steam, three times the 20 GB listed for Chapters 1 and 2.

Every tier also needs a graphics card that supports DirectX 12, Microsoft’s graphics technology for Windows games. Here is the full list from the game’s Steam store page.

What the numbers mean for your PC

The minimum tier is modest on graphics. The GT 1030 and RX 550 are entry-level cards.

The recommended tier is a bigger step. It doubles memory to 16 GB and moves up to an RTX 2060 or RX 6600 XT.

Storage is the requirement most likely to catch players out. Make sure you have the full 60 GB free before you start the download, plus room for Chapter 1, which you need first.

Do you need Chapter 1 to play Chapter 3?

Yes. On Steam, Chapter 3 is sold as downloadable content (DLC), an add-on for the free Poppy Playtime base game. The store page says the purchase covers only the third chapter, and that you must download the free base game first.

Chapter 3’s regular Steam price is $14.99. It was on sale for $7.49 when we checked in early October 2026, so prices may vary.

Can you play it on Mac, console or phone?

Not on Mac through Steam. Steam lists Chapter 3 for Windows only, with no macOS or Linux version. We have also listed the Phantom Blade Zero system requirements for PC.

Outside Steam, Mob Entertainment’s official game page links to Chapter 3 on:

  • PlayStation
  • Xbox
  • Nintendo Switch
  • Epic Games Store
  • iOS
  • Android

On iPhone and iPad, the App Store version costs $4.99 and requires iOS 15.0 or later.

How Chapter 3 compares with Chapters 4 and 5

Chapter 4: Safe Haven, released on January 30, 2025, needs far less storage but asks for stronger hardware at the top end. Chapter 5, released on February 18, 2026, lists the same graphics cards and processors as Chapter 4 on Steam.

If your PC handles Chapter 3 comfortably, check the graphics line before buying Chapter 4 or 5. Their minimum card is a step up from Chapter 3’s.

Chapter 5’s Steam page does not state a storage figure, so leave plenty of free space.

Is it worth the download?

Steam players seem to think so. On October 3, 2026, Chapter 3 held a “Very Positive” rating on Steam, where 86% of its 4,136 English-language user reviews were positive.

What comes after Chapter 5

Chapter 5 is not the end of the story. In a March 2026 interview with Variety, Mob Entertainment confirmed the series will continue but gave no details about a sixth chapter. The studio also has a film adaptation set up with Legendary Pictures. The franchise also extends to merchandise such as the LankyBox Poppy Playtime plush of Boxy and Huggy Wuggy.

The next release is Escape from Playtime, a co-op survival horror game set in the Poppy Playtime universe for one to four players. Steam lists it for Early Access, an unfinished version released ahead of the full game, on October 21, 2026.
