A virtual reality first-person shooter, Firewall: Zero Hour, was created by First Contact Entertainment and released by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Released on August 28, 2018, it is compatible with PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR. In September 2022, it was revealed that Firewall Ultra, a sequel to PlayStation VR2, would be released.
Blaze a Trail with Firewall Ultra – Coming Soon
Firewall Ultra is expected to launch in early 2023, simultaneously with the PlayStation VR 2. Since the original Firewall game was well-received by fans, we expect Firewall Ultra to arrive alongside Sony’s new PSVR 2 headset as a premium experience for players. Neither game has an official release date as of yet.
Firewall Ultra: Protect your network like a pro
Firewall: Zero Hour is a virtual reality tactical action shooter played either online or offline via training. Players take on contracts issued by agents known as mother and father. In-game, each contractor’s unique passive ability can thwart the opposition team and delay their progress toward the objective.
There are 12 contractors to pick from, each with a fixed primary talent and a customizable secondary skill. Additionally, players can tailor their loadouts by selecting a primary weapon, a secondary weapon, one piece of terminal equipment, and one piece of nonlethal equipment.
Players can gain experience and the game’s in-game currency, “Crypto,” by completing objectives and scavenging locations when they take on contracts.

Firewall Ultra adds cooperative player versus environment (PvE) modes where players may team up with their friends to take on AI-controlled enemies to the game’s previously existing player versus environment (PvP) gameplay.
With the inclusion of “tactical multiplayer objectives,” we may assume that there will be more complex game modes than just team deathmatches. One of these goals is seen in the teaser as hacking a computer while dodging opponents.

Protect Your Virtual Reality with Firewall Ultra VR on PlayStation VR2
PlayStation has officially revealed Firewall Ultra for PSVR. 2018 saw the introduction of First Contact Entertainment’s new first-person shooter series with the launch of Firewall: Zero Hour. The PlayStation VR game was a tactical shooter where players may choose from various playable contractors and complete different contract objectives.
This time around, First Contact Entertainment will bring the latest installment of the Firewall series to the PlayStation VR. The developers of First Contact Entertainment call Firewall Ultra the “next development” of the Firewall series.
It will also be a first-person multiplayer shooter. Still, it will be developed with the latest capabilities of the PlayStation VR2 headset and the knowledge gained from creating a successful major VR release in the past.
All Firewall: Zero Hour’s models have been upgraded to take advantage of the PlayStation VR2’s capabilities for 4K HDR. The maps have also been given a facelift, and new features have been included. Although Firewall Ultra updates Firewall: Zero Hour, it adds many new features and concepts.
The new PvE experience in Firewall Ultra will indeed please single-player gamers, and more information will be provided soon. Significant changes are also being made to the multiplayer mode. Dedicated servers will replace P2P ones, and best-of-three sets will replace one-on-one contests. These alterations should result in a vastly improved and refined online experience.
After the game’s release, Firewall Ultra will continue to receive updates with new material to keep its online player population healthy and growing. New contractors, maps, and weaponry have all been confirmed for a post-launch release.
No information has been provided regarding this content’s distribution model if any. It could be made available as paid DLC or as free patches. With a “deeper level of personalization” than its predecessor, Firewall will not feature any expensive cosmetic DLC.
Adding Firewall Ultra to the PlayStation VR2’s release schedule is welcome. To be used exclusively with the PlayStation 5 (Jailbroken), the PlayStation VR2 is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2023. No official date has been set for the release of Firewall Ultra. Therefore, it is unclear whether it will be a launch title or if it will be released at a later time.
When it came out in 2018 for PlayStation VR, Firewall: Zero Hour didn’t precisely set the world on fire. However, Firewall Ultra’s planned update and expansion might give it the sheen it needs to stand out amid the increasing number of virtual reality games. By the end of the year, we should have more details about Firewall. For the PlayStation VR2, a new version of the Firewall is currently in development.
