Frankfort police arrested a local business owner after searching four properties where, they say, officers found more than $55,000 in gambling proceeds, eight gambling machines and over 13,000 pills.
Prakash Patel, 61, who owns the properties, is charged with promoting gambling, permitting gambling and first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, LEX18 reported, citing the Frankfort Police Department. The charges have not been proven in court.
Officers served the search warrants on Oct. 22, 2026, at four locations in Franklin County, including businesses on East Main Street and Evergreen Road. Police put the haul at $55,461.77 in cash they called illegal gambling proceeds, eight gambling machines, 11,040 7-hydroxymitragynine pills and 2,412 pseudoindoxyl pills. WKYT reported the same numbers and described Patel as the owner of several businesses.

Police have not named the businesses or said what kind of machines they took, how the machines were used or what started the investigation, which they say is still open. No court date for Patel had been reported as of Oct. 23, 2026.
In a separate crackdown, Pennsylvania started enforcing its ban on unlicensed skill games on Oct. 14, 2026, as Game Empress reported ahead of that deadline.
