With the first season of Call of Duty: Warzone 2 winding down, developer Infinity Ward has begun to reveal some of the game’s little secrets, such as a hidden creek beneath the Ashika showcase map.
Ashika will be the epicenter of the action in the second season of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty: Warzone 2, which will feature the return of the fan-favorite Resurgence game mode for Warzone 2.
Fans were initially skeptical of Call of Duty: Warzone 2 when it was released alongside Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in November 2022.
Resurgence and the other small-scale maps, such as Rebirth Island, Fortune’s Keep, and Caldera, were decommissioned when Warzone 2 became the primary focus of Infinity Ward for the foreseeable future.
Despite Warzone 2’s continued success, there are still players that yearn for the intense, up-close combat of the original. Despite gaining its following, the PvEvP game style, DMZ could never fully replace the popularity of Resurgence and Plunder.
After much anticipation, the Ashika map for Call of Duty: Warzone 2 was unveiled earlier today. Players were given a glimpse at the various buildings and layouts around Ashika island with the unveiling of the tac map.
However, one screenshot of an underground section was the most intriguing part of the event. In the screenshot, players may see a canal leading to a cavern below the earth with bridges spanning the waterway.

When examining the Tac-map in greater detail, it is possible to deduce that this mazelike river winds its way around all or most of Ashika Island, as it can be seen making many entrances and exits from the coastline.
Due to the lack of official information, players scour every accessible screenshot and teaser video to learn more about Ashika Island. The caverns beneath Ashika can likely be reached from various locations, not just along the coast.
Ashika Island may be the third-largest map in Warzone history after Al Mazrah and Verdansk, despite its deceptively modest appearance from above, thanks to the addition of the underground river.

Resurgence and Ashika Island’s possible inclusion in Warzone 2 is just the beginning. Activision sent out a survey a few months back to determine whether or not players would be interested in playing on legacy maps in Warzone.
With Verdansk being revamped for Warzone 2, Activision (Blizzard) may bring back game modes like Plunder and Payload in the future. Season 2 of Call of Duty: Warzone 2 will be released on February 15, giving fans of the series a chance to visit Ashika Island. PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S users can now purchase Call of Duty: Warzone 2.
