When will the PS5 Wolverine game be released, and what other details can be shared about Insomniac’s upcoming Marvel game?
It’s about damn time, bub, that Logan made his way back into the competitive gaming scene. However, when will the PS5 version of the Wolverine game be available to buy? Moreover, will the PS4 version, or a version for some other system, be released?
You’ve found the right place if you’ve been bothered by inquiries about the new X-Men video game featuring the famous mutant. Here, in one convenient location, we will cover all the most critical aspects of the recent Wolverine game news.
The Wolverine PS5 game is exciting because it is being developed by Insomniac Games, the same studio behind the upcoming Spider-Man 2 game.
Wolverine Ps5 Game Release Date Rumor
The developers have confirmed that the PS5 release of the Wolverine game will take place in 2023, but they have not yet revealed a specific date. We will update this page as soon as we have more specific release date information to share with you.
Which Consoles and Platforms Can Play the Wolverine Game?
The Wolverine game is releasing for the PS5 and is not expected to be ported to other platforms, including the Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, or the Nintendo Switch. After all, Sony owns Insomniac Games, the studio developing the Wolverine game.
Similar to the recent Spider-Man games, the Wolverine game will not come to consoles other than Sony’s for quite some time. A PC version may be released at some point (much like the God of War PC version), but this isn’t confirmed.
Will the Wolverine Game Be Released on the Playstation 4?
To your knowledge, the Wolverine video game is not coming to the PlayStation 4. Due to the nature of this next-gen project, the PS5 will be the only platform on which the Wolverine game can be played upon release. Although the possibility of a low-quality port developing in the future cannot be ruled out, Sony has no plans to release such a version for the time being.
When Will the Wolverine Ps5 Game Be Available for Pre-Order?
The PS5 version of Wolverine is not yet available for pre-order. To date, no official pre-order link has been provided to fans. We’ll add all the information you need to know as soon as retailers release product pages. It will be interesting to know about the final price, which has not been finalized.
Wolverine Game Story Rumors
The plot of the Wolverine PS5 game is still shrouded in mystery, though the reveal trailer does appear to show a somewhat gloomy Wolverine getting into a bar brawl with some unlucky criminals.
However, the trailer suggests that this will not be an origin story but rather a dark and gritty tale about a gloomy Logan who has already had his powers for quite some time (he has metal claws).
Maybe, like Insomniac’s Spider-Man games, the Wolverine game will start with the main character already well-known before putting him up against a significant new threat.
And in case you were wondering, the Wolverine PS5 game is not expected to have any canonical ties to the Marvel cinematic universe or the Fox-era X-Men movies.
Since Marvel Games appears to be following its path, fans may only be able to look forward to a set of skins/outfits/costumes paying homage to Wolvie’s cinematic appearances. Hugh Jackman probably won’t make an appearance, but you could always pretend to be him.
Wolverine Game Ps5 Gameplay
The official PlayStation Blog describes the Wolverine PS5 project as follows. However, it doesn’t go into detail about the game’s gameplay: “Marvel’s Wolverine is a standalone game directed by Brian Horton (creative director) and Cameron Christian (game director), who recently led the creative efforts on Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, a game we are incredibly proud of at Insomniac.
So stoked to be the Creative Director on #WolverinePS5 with @GameDev_Cam @JessReed and talented team @insomniacgames https://t.co/y7lHZVWcPL

Like with our Spider-Man games, we want to be faithful to the character’s roots while also exploring ways to give him a modern spin that embodies the Insomniac ethos. The team behind Marvel’s Wolverine may be in the early stages of development. Still, based on what I’ve seen, they’re already creating something extraordinary with the game’s heartfelt story and innovative gameplay.
We are excited to see what Insomniac’s team comes up with for the Wolverine PS5 game because their previous games, such as Spider-Man, Sunset Overdrive, and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, all feature exciting and original fight sequences.
