Though Geralt’s romantic options in The Witcher 3 are varied, the next-gen update released in December 2022 adds what appears to be full-frontal nudity. A photo mode and DLSS support were among the new additions, but no mention was made of the fact that the gen in next-gen referred to the user’s privates.

After being made aware of the issue, CD Projekt Red stated that it was unintentional and that they were working on a solution.

An NSFW photo was posted on the r/Witcher subreddit, which Kotaku reported showed the Crones of the Crookback Bog in human form, but with fully formed vaginas and pubic hair instead of the smoothed-over private parts seen in the original.

During their search for Imlerith on Bald Mountain, Geralt, and Ciri encounter the Crones, who have taken human form. Prior to the next-gen update, the scene only featured a partial strip, but now it’s much more revealing. The brutal you battle in the game has been revealed to have realistic privates as well. Here, CDPR acted swiftly and issued a statement to Kotaku.

“The next-gen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt features several community-sourced mods not created by CD Projekt Red, on top of numerous enhancements created and implemented by the studio internally,” explained CDPR. “Merging everything together was a complex process and the textures in question are an unintended result present in the release version.”

The studio added that an update is currently being developed and will be released as soon as possible. This problem should have been addressed a few days ago, but unfortunately for CDPR, that time has passed.
