Joe Danger Infinity on Steam: Before starting on No Man’s Sky, Hello Games developed numerous entries in the colorful and endearing Joe Danger series, which featured a stunt racing protagonist. Even though the PC versions of Joe Danger and Joe Danger: The Movie can still be found on Steam, the mobile spinoff Joe Danger Infinity, which came out in 2014, has only ever been available on the iOS platform.

The iOS upgrade broke the mobile versions of Joe Danger, therefore they were taken down from sale. That all changed in January when Hello Games re-released Joe Danger for iOS after receiving an email from the mother of an autistic child who adored the game.
Yesterday, Sean Murray lamented in a tweet, “It’s unfortunate that many games slowly expire, and we’ve been trying to think of a method to let Joe go on forever, and reach as many people as possible.” Putting out a web-based, no-cost version “is one approach to achieving that goal (or at least, one we intend to use). “Infinity may be played on a web browser on any operating system thanks to its support for mouse and keyboard input and its ability to adapt to the screen’s resolution.

It’s great that developers with the resources to do so are keeping older games alive and kicking, and it’s even better that they’re releasing these updates for free. While the scope of Joe Danger isn’t on par with that of No Man’s Sky, the games are nevertheless enjoyable and worth trying out.
