Immersive Gamebox Opens First Pacific Northwest Location in Tukwila
- Immersive Gamebox opened its first Pacific Northwest location at Westfield Southcenter in Tukwila, Washington, on August 28, 2026.
- The Tukwila opening matters less because it's new to the U.S.

Immersive Gamebox opened its first Pacific Northwest location at Westfield Southcenter in Tukwila, Washington, on August 28, 2026. It’s also the London-based company’s first U.S. franchise — a different milestone than being its first U.S. venue. Immersive Gamebox already runs locations in Texas, California, New York, Massachusetts and several other states; Tukwila is the first time a local operator, rather than the company itself, is the one running things.
A Franchise First, Not a National First
The Tukwila opening matters less because it’s new to the U.S. and more because of how it got here. Immersive Gamebox CEO Lisa Paton called the location a milestone for the company, since it launches the brand’s first U.S. franchise while extending it into the Pacific Northwest for the first time.
According to MyNorthwest, the Tukwila venue is locally owned and operated. Neither local reporting nor the company’s own materials name the franchise owner. The company’s franchise site lists Washington as an already-sold territory, and Immersive Gamebox is also recruiting multi-unit franchise partners across several other U.S. states.

How Immersive Gamebox’s Technology Works
Immersive Gamebox isn’t a conventional VR arcade, and players don’t strap on a headset the way they would with a console VR system. Instead, groups step into enclosed rooms called Gameboxes, where LiDAR sensors turn the walls themselves into interactive touch surfaces.
Cameras positioned around each room track patterns on players’ visors, mapping their movement in three dimensions. Projection mapping throws the game across the walls, and surround sound fills in the rest. Players interact by moving, gesturing and touching — a group-first setup that trades headset isolation for something closer to being inside the game with your friends.
Games and Age Recommendations
The Southcenter location currently offers titles including Squid Game, Floor Is Lava, Box Party, Escape AI, Soccer Arcade, Batman, Ghostbusters, Alien Aptitude Test, PAW Patrol, Angry Birds, Psychedelic Mansion, Temple of Coins, Ticket to Mars and the Junior Bundle. Soccer Arcade is currently listed as available only through August 31.
The licensing lineup reflects partnerships Immersive Gamebox has built with major entertainment companies including Netflix, Warner Bros. and Sony.
Age recommendations vary by game rather than applying uniformly across the venue:
- PAW Patrol: suitable from age 3
- Angry Birds and the Junior Bundle: recommended from around age 5
- Most other games: aimed at ages 8 and up
- Squid Game and Escape AI: recommended for ages 12 and older
Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the experience. At U.S. venues, players under 18 also need an adult to sign a waiver.
Pricing
Reported pricing for the Tukwila location around its opening included:
- Adults and ages 12+: $31.99 per person
- Children ages 3–11: $26.99
- Military: $26
- Family-of-four bundle: $103.99
- Children under 3 who aren’t playing: free
Seattle’s Child reported those figures around the venue’s opening, but Immersive Gamebox prices vary by experience and location, with higher pricing possible during designated peak periods. GeekWire, for instance, listed a 30-minute Floor Is Lava session for a child at $23.99 — lower than the family pricing quoted elsewhere. Immersive Gamebox’s own help center confirms prices vary by location and shift with demand and peak periods, and ParentMap lists admission as starting at $26.99, which is the safer number to plan around rather than treating any single figure as fixed.
Westfield is also advertising a 15% discount on visits from Monday through Thursday through December 31, 2026.
Opening Day
MyNorthwest’s pre-opening coverage had the grand-opening celebration scheduled for 10 a.m. on August 28, with a ribbon-cutting planned for 2 p.m. and giveaways running through the day. Westfield Southcenter’s directory now lists Immersive Gamebox as open, and bookings were live heading into opening weekend, with limited availability, according to GeekWire.
Part of a Bigger Push at Westfield Southcenter
Immersive Gamebox joins an entertainment lineup at Westfield Southcenter that already includes AMC Theatres, Round1 Bowling & Arcade, The Escape Game and Great Big Game Show. General manager Navdeep Singh said demand for entertainment offerings at the mall continues to grow.
The timing also lines up with gaming’s broader reach. The ESA’s 2026 Essential Facts report — covered here on GameEmpress — puts weekly U.S. players at 212.3 million, with the average player now 37. Venues like this one are increasingly aimed at an audience well past the arcade-teenager stereotype.
