  • Riot Games Refuses to Pay Hackers Demanding Millions for Stolen League of Legends Source Code!

Riot Games Refuses to Pay Hackers Demanding Millions for Stolen League of Legends Source Code!

Riot Games revealed on Tuesday that hackers had stolen the source code for League of Legends and Team Fight Tactics, and the company would not be paying the ransom demanded by the hackers to get the code back.

It’s the latest in a spate of data hacks at prominent game firms and implies both titles could be increasingly vulnerable to cheaters in the coming months. Analysis done over the weekend indicated that the attackers had exfiltrated source code for League, TFT, and a legacy anti-cheat platform, Riot Games said in a tweet.

This morning, we were hit with a ransom email. We, of course, refuse to contribute financially. Riot Games reported late last week that its systems had been “compromised” by a social engineering attack. However, the business did say that the incident would delay the rollout of patches for sure of its games, even though no user data or personal information had been compromised.

    League of Legends Source Code
    League of Legends Source Code

Company officials have not yet confirmed the methods the alleged attackers used to steal the source code for one of the most popular multiplayer games in the world, but “social engineering” may indicate that an employee fell for a phishing scheme on another platform and unknowingly gave out their login credentials.

A hacker did this last year to the NFT game Axie Infinity, draining hundreds of millions of dollars worth of cryptocurrency. It has also been speculated that a Slack login was used in the recent hack of Rockstar Games, which resulted in the unprecedented disclosure of in-development Grand Theft Auto VI assets. There is no denying the increasing prevalence of ransom hacks.

Other well-known game developers and publishers have fallen victim to hackers recently, including Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red and Elden Ring publisher Bandai Namco. When asked for more information, a Riot Games representative politely declined to elaborate but did say that the firm planned to publish a detailed postmortem on the breach, including the attack vectors,” in the near future.

Riot Games resumed their Twitter thread today by saying, “Since the attack, we’ve been working to assess its impact on anti-cheat and to be prepared to implement patches as swiftly as feasible if needed.” However, the business disclosed that the compromised builds also included experimental new features for League of Legends (Wild Rift) and Team Fight Tactics.

These features are considered secret and are therefore at risk of being leaked before they are officially announced. Despite Riot Games‘ hopes, “much of this material is in prototype, and there is no assurance that it will ever be deployed,” the developer stated.

The company added that it is assisting law authorities with their investigation into the attack and hopes to have its systems back up and running by the end of the week so that normal game updates can resume. There were layoffs at several gaming and technology companies last week, and Riot Games was no exception, letting go of around 50 workers.

  • Step Up Your Game with ‘NBA All-World’: The Official Mobile Game from Niantic, NBA, and NBPA!

Step Up Your Game with ‘NBA All-World’: The Official Mobile Game from Niantic, NBA, and NBPA!

Niantic, the studio behind the popular Pokémon Go, is releasing NBA All-World. This mobile basketball game uses augmented reality with the National Basketball Association and the National Basketball Players Association.

This summer, the three officially announced their intention to work together to establish NBA All-World. Players of the NBA All-World can use geolocation features to locate other basketball enthusiasts and NBA players in their region for friendly competition.

The free-to-play game, like Pokémon Go, has users walking around the natural world searching for recruits and battlegrounds. On Tuesday, the app stores for Android and iOS smartphones finally went online, making the game available for download.

A short documentary series starring Jalen Green, Jordan Poole, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Andrew Wiggins is part of the “go. all. out” marketing push for the NBA All-World. In the series titled “Where I’m From,” NBA players talk about their favorite places to shoot hoops in their hometowns.

    NBA All-World

“We look forward to our fans fully immersing in NBA All-World,” said Matt Holt, head of consumer products at the NBA, in a news statement. Our partnership with Niantic and the NBPA has allowed us to provide NBA and NBPA culture to players worldwide.

This is Niantic’s first fully licensed sports game, showing that the NBA is serious about embracing new technologies like the metaverse in gaming. The game allows users to travel to different locales and play on other courts, meet real NBA players and sign them to their teams, outfit their virtual players with stuff from Drop Zones, and compete in tournaments to win special rewards within the game.

Niantic’s Lightship platform was used to create NBA All-World, while the company’s Campfire social tool facilitates player interactions outside the game. According to Niantic’s CEO and founder, John Hanke, “our version of an NBA basketball game starts with exciting one-on-one gameplay and expands from there to include the major elements of basketball culture, including music, fashion, sneakers, and more,” which are integrated into real-world locations.

To bring the game to life and give NBA fans around the world new experiences, Niantic collaborated closely with the NBPA’s innovation arm, THINK450. In a statement, THINK450’s Chief Commercial Officer Josh Goodstadt explained that the company hoped to “help make NBA All-World as authentic as possible” and “reach new audiences” by including NBA players in Niantic’s augmented reality game.

We’re excited for people to create their teams based on their favorite NBA players from all over the world and compete against one other. The NBA All-Star event will develop further by including real-world experiences and brand activations.

  • Step into the World of Half-Life 2: Episode 1 with Upcoming VR Mod Release!

Step into the World of Half-Life 2: Episode 1 with Upcoming VR Mod Release!

Valve released Half-Life 2: Episode One for Windows in 2006. Players must flee City 17 with Gordon Freeman and Alyx Vance as Half-Life 2 (2004) proceeds. Episode One mixes shooting, puzzles, and a storyline. After six years of developing Half-Life 2, Valve turned to serial production to release games more often.

Attack One created Alyx’s character and artificial intelligence. Valve’s Source engine with enhanced lighting and animation is used. Episode One was praised for its cooperative gaming with Alyx, although its short length was panned. The Orange Box 2007 brought it to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. 2007.

The Half-Life 2 VR team is adapting their most enormous mod to the game’s first standalone expansion pack, Half-Life 2: Episode 1. It was inevitable that someone would try to create a virtual reality adaptation of Valve’s classic after seeing how fun and immersive Half-Life: Alyx was.

The introduction of the Half-Life 2 VR version last year proved that the game remains remarkably stable and fun despite the passage of nearly two decades. Following its release, the team behind the mod wasted no time in putting the technology it had developed to use in adapting another Valve classic for virtual reality gaming.

Half-Life 2: Episode 1 VR Mod Release Window Set

The SourceVR Mod Team, who created the virtual reality adaptation of Half-Life 2, has stated that the retrofit of Episode 1 material would be released in the first quarter of 2023. This was revealed in the latest announcement trailer created by the SourceVR Mod Team, which re-created key moments from Half-Life 2: Episode 1 in virtual reality.

Fans of the developers’ prior works should have a good idea of what to expect from this project. While the SourceVR Mod Team’s ambitions are lofty, they do not extend beyond adding things like Half-Life 2’s cut beta maps. Instead, the VR integration is being highlighted as the central focus of the release, although the majority of the mod’s new features are related to gameplay and mechanics.

    Read More:

Upgrades include better control of weapons, a more user-friendly interface, and better support for virtual reality. The Half-Life mod for Valve’s own SourceVR, Alyx, is a significant source of creativity for the SourceVR Mod Team. Considering that Alyx is a full-fledged campaign with a surprising diversity of interactive aspects scattered across each level, it’s astonishing that the projects are similar.

Strangely, Half-Life: Alyx may be played in 2D without a VR headset, thanks to fan-made tweaks. It’s great to see the Half-Life modding scene revitalized by Valve’s recent releases since there have been multiple successful attempts to pull this off to make the game more accessible to those who don’t have a VR headset.

Not that anyone should be surprised by this, but this still doesn’t guarantee Half-Life 3 is on the horizon. Episode 1 of Half-Life 2 was released in 2006 for mobile devices, personal computers, PlayStation 3 (Emulator), and Xbox 360.

  • Modern Warfare 2’s Taraq Map: A Player’s Critique!

Modern Warfare 2’s Taraq Map: A Player’s Critique!

A player of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has discovered a possible glitch in the Taraq map. At the debut, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 included a respectable number of maps, some of which were more optimal for online play than others.

The finest maps in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 are, according to some players, Farm 18, Taraq, and Crown Raceway, with Embassy and Mercado Las Almas also in the race. Since different players may have unique difficulties with a specific level, there is probably no consensus on the best map in the game.

One player of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has spoken out against the Taraq map for a good reason. An image from the Modern Warfare 2 Roadmap, uploaded by user T-King-667, demonstrates how challenging it is to strike UAVs there.

    Modern Warfare 2's Taraq Map
    Modern Warfare 2’s Taraq Map

T-King-667 indicates where the UAV is, confirming that it is obscured by smoke or clouds. The player notes that it is their job to destroy UAVs to prevent adversaries from learning their unit’s position but that doing so in Taraq’s weather is exceedingly challenging.

An El Asilo map user said the same issue exists there, claiming that the UAV’s flight path makes it difficult to hit them even with a locked-on missile. Fans question the discrepancy in the heights of UAVs and CUAVs in Modern Warfare 2, and one player confirms this by saying that some PILA rockets fly past UAVs while having a lock-on.

While T-King-667 singles out the map’s cloudiness as the primary reason he dislikes it, fan reaction appears more nuanced than that. One player even claims that after Modern Warfare 2 came out, they’ve come to like playing on Taraq even more.

You all may have your reasons to dislike Taraq. But this is mine:
    byu/T-King-667 inModernWarfareII

Another player says that Taraq is perfect for them because they prefer large, comprehensive maps in their Call of Duty games, and a fan of Modern Warfare 2 says they enjoy training their sniper guns here the most.

While these issues may be more noticeable on some levels than others in Modern Warfare 2, the game still features a respectable range of map sizes. Two new maps, Shoot House and Shipment were added to Modern Warfare 2 shortly after its release, but they are reimaginings of previously existing maps.

Some players may have hoped that more multiplayer maps would be introduced to Modern Warfare 2 after release, despite the success of modes like Shoot House and Shipment. You can now purchase Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 for the PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox One X/S.

  • Stunning Lighthouse Built by Minecraft Player

Stunning Lighthouse Built by Minecraft Player

In-game, one Minecraft user constructed a stunning lighthouse. In the sandbox game, players have built some genuinely bizarre structures. Many creations in Minecraft demonstrate the extraordinary abilities of the community’s players.

Although, some players like to build more realistic structures in Minecraft. This contains actual landmarks and systems based on locations or objects outside the scope of the title. One participant built a replica lighthouse nearly indistinguishable from the real thing.

The Hyperboloid uploaded a video of their Minecraft lighthouse. After opening a tight picture of the structure, the camera gradually pans out to see the entire setup. The lighthouse is on an isolated island in the middle of the ocean, shown once the camera has panned far enough away from the structure.

Even little details like grass sprouting on the island and a harbor with a rowboat sitting in it indicate how much work went into the build, as seen in the clip. The lighthouse is a fantastic showcase of the realism that can be achieved in Minecraft.

Several users on Reddit have praised The Hyperboloid for their work on the lighthouse, with one reviewer hailing the shaders employed. Another reviewer mentioned that the sculpture appears excellent and natural because it is perched on a tiny rock.

When asked if they had finished the lighthouse’s inside, The Hyperboloid said they were too lazy to do so. No matter the outcome, the work is impressive and a testament to what can be accomplished with dedication and time in Minecraft.

It’s incredible to witness some Minecrafters’ enormous structures, but it’s also cool to see more realistic creations in the game. As The Hyperboloid demonstrated, well-executed artifacts like his have the potential to show players a realistic representation of the world they inhabit.

The effort put in by the players is evident in the level of detail present in these works, which only serves to enhance the pleasure experienced by the audience. The Hyperboloid was able to show the level of detail possible in Minecraft by creating a functional lighthouse. Minecraft is playable on various platforms, including mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.

  • Experience the End of the World in Fallout: London – Voice Acting Roles Available!

Experience the End of the World in Fallout: London – Voice Acting Roles Available!

The upcoming Fallout 4 mod Fallout: London creators have requested voice actors. The 2015 release of the fourth installment in the long-running role-playing game series was met with widespread acclaim due to the series’ reputation as a cherished post-apocalyptic property.

Modern adaptations by Bethesda have moved the games into the AAA sector. However, fans of the original isomeric releases from the late ’90s may believe that the newer games have lost touch with some of the series’ roots.

For those unaware, the upcoming Fallout: London mod is a highly ambitious expansion set in the United Kingdom’s capital. Players will be able to explore a post-nuclear wasteland outside of the United States in 2237, between the events of the first and second Fallout games, and interact with new groups spanning a large portion of London’s significant boroughs.

No specific date has been set for the mod’s release, although the developer anticipates it will be available in 2023. But until then, they are still working tirelessly and are actively recruiting new members. The ambitious Fallout 4 mod is looking for voice actors to add their talents to the project.

The project’s setting in the United Kingdom necessitates a wide range of British accents, but the casting call doesn’t specify that the actors must be British citizens.

The lines of dialogue will be provided. However, participants can improvise a little. Applications from interested parties are being accepted through Google Docs, and the recording process will take place between April and October of this year.

There have been many fantastic mods for Fallout 4 throughout the years, but London has the potential to be one of the largest ever to be released. While there are no immediate plans to bring the project to consoles, PC players with the base game and any official downloadable content can enjoy it as soon as it becomes available.

The Fallout series is renowned for its dark satirical perspective on society and its many vaults, which verge on the experimental. The games also include expansive open landscapes with numerous NPCs to interact with.

Fans are eager to see what comes next after Bethesda confirmed that Fallout 5 is in development and will be released in the future, even though it will be several years before the game is playable. The PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One versions of Fallout 4 are currently available, with the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions in the works.

Fly High in a Retro-Futuristic World in this Fallout-Style RPG

If you long for the isometric RPG format of the original PC versions of Fallout, some of the best games of all time, we have some good news for you. The studio head of New Blood Interactive, creators of the throwback first-person shooter Dusk, recently released some exciting new gameplay footage of their upcoming retro-futuristic game, which takes heavy inspiration from the earliest games in the Fallout series.

The team’s goal is to create “a living, breathing, retro-futuristic (but sometimes seedy) world for NB RPG,” the working title, and Dave Oshry uses the regular ‘Screenshot Saturday’ hashtag, used by many game developers to show progress on upcoming games, to showcase their progress.

Oshry comments, “That means a lot of flying cars.” Outside of a movie theater that seems to be inspired by Blade Runner and New Blood’s crime noir first-person shooter Fallen Aces, we catch a glimpse of a very stylish, comprehensive silver car floating in the air. He also peeks at a few skyscrapers, switching to the interiors before finally showing their entire height.

Those familiar with the original Fallout games will recognize the lip sync tests and the Pip-Boy user interface used for the talking head conversations. The character models look very realistic, with one character sporting a hybrid of a “biometric scanner” and a “VR headset” for a headpiece.

You can also find models and animation tests for various weapons, from old standbys like the M16 and the revolver to fan favorites like the crowbar from Half-Life to futuristic blasters that hold bubbling vials of green liquid and crackle with energy when fired.

We see some potential journal layouts, complete with white space for all the notes and sketches you’ll make as you investigate.

  • Destiny 2 New Player Experience Reimagined – The Ultimate Gaming Experience Awaits!

Destiny 2 New Player Experience Reimagined – The Ultimate Gaming Experience Awaits!

It has been said that new players will face a steep learning curve in Destiny 2’s game mechanics and narrative. To streamline Destiny 2, a new free-to-play business model and a tutorial mission dubbed New Light have been implemented.

Nonetheless, new players are sometimes lost amidst the plethora of downloadable content (DLC) possibilities, unaware of how to progress toward the game’s endgame content and associated prizes. However, with the upcoming release of the Lightfall story expansion next month, several alterations have been made that may improve the new player experience to its highest level.

Destiny 2’s free-to-play nature makes it accessible to a broader audience. Still, the game doesn’t do a great job introducing novices to the backstory of the game’s various antagonists, characters, and locales. Power Level limits and buying the Light Powers Suite from Ikora Ray in the Tower have learning curves.

Thousands of players have spent the game’s present lifetime playing and grinding for their ideal combination of weapons, armor, mods, Light and Darkness subclasses, and Exotic goods to suit their preferred play styles and build preferences.

    Destiny 2 New Player

All Destiny 2 Armor Mods Unlocked

In preparation for the upcoming rework of build crafting in Lightfall, Destiny 2 has made all armor mods accessible to all players. Among the better choices and alterations, Bungie has made to make Destiny 2 more accessible to new players is this.

New players can continue to increase their Power Levels and explore with all the armor mods besides the Raid and Artifact mods, thanks to the free-to-play content available in Vanguard, Gambit, and the Crucible.

This reduces the difficulty of starting and the length of the grind but also lets new players put their glimmer toward their Light and Dark subclasses and keep exploring the various build options that have become available to them.

With the new Darkness subclass Strand introduced in Lightfall, it will be crucial to hone these skills. Though everyone’s experience with this class will be different, newer players may still learn about their characters’ subclasses and find out which ones work best for them, making it simpler to pick up Strand.

Decreasing Grandmaster Nightfalls’ Power Levels improve the New Player’s Experience

Not only have all armor mods been made available, but the Power Level requirement for Grandmaster Nightfalls has been decreased by 25, so players with a Power Level of 1580 can now participate. With the release of Grandmaster Nightfalls on January 17, the overall Power Level of Grandmaster activities in Destiny 2 was lowered by 10, bringing the new total to 1620.

While players can enter at Level 1580, their foes will be Level 40, as they are at least 25 Power higher. Bungie has assured players that despite the modifications to the Power Level, they can still raise it to 1595 with the help of Artifact Power and pinnacle drops.

It’s possible that this would open up access to these modes for novice players and make higher-level equipment available. Also, the current disparity between low and high Power Levels might be lessened if these adjustments are made.

Bungie has acknowledged the current condition of matchmaking, so future adjustments may group novice players instead of pitting them against seasoned veterans. This appears to be the case, as Bungie’s TWAB states that additional improvements to high-level content in Destiny 2 will be implemented soon.

Given that all of this material is available to all players, even newer ones, it stands to reason that Bungie has made it easier and more appealing to explore what Destiny 2 has to offer and try out different builds in preparation for the upcoming changes in Lightfall and beyond. Launched simultaneously for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, Destiny 2 is now available.

  • The Force is Strong with this One: STAR WAR Jedi Survivor Release Date!

The Force is Strong with this One: STAR WAR Jedi Survivor Release Date!

Future action-adventure game Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is being created by Respawn Entertainment and will be distributed by Electronic Arts. Release dates have been set for March 17, 2023, for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S. It is the sequel to Star Wars: Jedi: Fallen Order (2019).

May the Force Be With You: ‘Jedi Survivor’ Release Date Announced

Star Wars: Jedi Survivor’s release date is March 17, 2023. Journalist Jeff Grubb’s assertions that he had covered the game, including the title before it was officially released gave validity to the theory that March 2023 is the intended release date.

This was announced in December during the Game Awards, where a new teaser showed off even more of the game and revealed its scheduled release date.

Due to the pandemic’s likely impact on the development schedule, the game may not be ready in time. Not that this would be the first game to be delayed past its original release window.

    STAR WAR Jedi Survivor
    STAR WAR Jedi Survivor

    STAR WAR Platform Survival Mission

The launch platforms for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is the Xbox One X, Xbox One S, PlayStation 5, and personal computers. Respawn Entertainment has decided to build this game exclusively for current-gen consoles so they can push the graphical fidelity higher, therefore players who are still playing on older devices like the Xbox One and PS4 will have to update to continue Cal’s journey (and presumably reduce the number of platforms they need to work across).

The Last Jedi Standing: A Story of Survival

According to details given by Respawn Entertainment alongside the game’s formal announcement, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor takes place five years after the events of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Cal, still feeling the burden of being one of the last remaining Jedi in the galaxy, must stay one step ahead of the Empire’s relentless pursuit.

Cal Kestis’s fight with Darth Vader at the end of the first game is one of the game’s most iconic moments. After narrowly escaping the confrontation with his life, Cal must make the ultimate decision: use the Holocron data to rebuild the Jedi Order by revealing the locations of force-sensitive children across the galaxy, or destroy it to prevent any more children from being sacrificed to the whims of the Empire or forced to become inquisitors.

The second game can take several different paths based on the first events. Having been knighted by Cere, Cal must now investigate his force potential to rein in his Dark Side visions and impulses. Cere, who has recently allowed the Force back into her consciousness, must decide whether to join the fight against the Empire as one of the last remaining Jedi or to live in hiding.

Based on the two teasers, we can assume that Cal and his group are on the run. After evading Vader, they set out to see what else the galaxy offers while constantly looking over their shoulders. One of Cal’s lightsabers is shown in the hands of what looks to be a Pau’an in the first teaser trailer.

Since we subsequently see Cal fighting an unknown figure with a red saber, and he only uses one blade, this could hint that in the sequel, Cal will only use one edge for most of the game. The trailer’s biggest enigma is the white-skinned man or woman that Cal discovers in a Bacta tank.

The man in question has long white hair and doesn’t seem connected to any significant legacy characters; they are likely original creations for this story. Does the name of the game allude to the actual “Survivor”?

Since it has never been determined how many Jedi were spared during the purge of Order 66, the canon is free to introduce new Jedi at any point; this might be somebody who fights alongside Cal or someone who has turned to the dark side and is Cal’s opponent in the teaser.

Star Wars: Will the Jedi Outlast Darth Vader’s Return?

You can bet that the formidable Sith Lord will send his entire army after the crew now that he knows Cere and Cal survived. The trailer gives us a fleeting sight of a shadowy figure carrying a red lightsaber. It’s unclear whether this individual is an inquisitor or another Sith Lord.

While the Rule of Two might indicate that this is not a Sith Lord, we will find out for sure very soon. In addition, the identity of the individual in the Bacta tank remains a mystery.

Amigo or foe? So far, there has been no indication that Darth Vader will appear in Jedi Survivor; however, his appearance in the first game, Jedi: Fallen Order, was similarly concealed until after launch, with only a brief teaser of his trademark breath sound appearing in the video. After what he did to us last time, I think it’s best if Cal stays away from him.

  • Tchia Release Date: An Island Adventure Inspired by New Caledonia, Available Early 2023!

Tchia Release Date: An Island Adventure Inspired by New Caledonia, Available Early 2023!

Forthcoming from Awaceb and Kepler Interactive, Tchia is an action-adventure video game. The user takes control of the game’s protagonist, a girl named Talyn, as she travels across a made-up archipelago modeled after New Caledonia. Release for Microsoft Windows, PS4, and PS5 is planned for early 2023.

Countdown to Tchia Release Date: Get Ready to Experience the Future

Tchia’s stunning island setting, modeled after New Caledonia, was shown at the 2020 Game Awards. The player takes control of a young girl who has the supernatural ability to transform into various animals and inanimate objects like coconuts.

The exploration entails multiple activities, from sailing to uncharted tropical islands to trekking through forests and gliding over the countryside. Release date information for the game was last seen at the 2021 Game Awards.

Awaceb, the game’s developer, announced the postponement on Twitter, writing, “this extra time will allow us to thoroughly polish every area of the game and flesh out all the little touches that we know will make Tchia a very exceptional experience.”

Tchia will be available for the PS5, PS4, and PC. This is the place to see every significant game postponed until next season.

Tchia Mania: Why This Game Is My Most Wanted in 2023?

In 2023, we may look forward to many high-budget video games like Starfield, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. After getting my hands on a much smaller indie release, my most anticipated game of 2023 has changed.

Tchia is an open-world video game about a girl who travels around a tropical archipelago in the Pacific Ocean. It is bright and colorful and has a relaxed, natural feel. At first, I was intrigued by Tchia, thanks to a hands-off preview of Kepler Interactive’s Gamescom lineup from the previous year.

However, I didn’t appreciate the game’s charm until I got to try it out for myself. Tchia is a liberating open-world game similar to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Elden Ring, and Sable. Players are dropped into a series of stunning Pacific islands and given the means to travel between them via climbing, gliding, owning animals and things, and sailing.

Even more so, the experience is elevated by its in-depth familiarity with and reverence for the culture it symbolizes. Tchia is an indie favorite to keep an eye on if you want to guess which game has the best chance of being this year’s dark horse in the critically acclaimed game of the year category.

    Uncovering the mystery of Tchia

Open-world game Tchia follows a little girl (also named Tchia) as she searches for her missing father in a Pacific island chain modeled after New Caledonia. Players may soul-jump into a wide variety of animals and objects, and they have the stamina to climb buildings and trees, swing from them, and even swim, dive, and sail throughout the islands.

Each of these adds a new layer of gameplay depth that Tchia may use to expand her exploration options and advance her through problems. During my preview, I got to play some of the game’s critical story missions, in which Tchia makes friends with a young girl and explores one of the game’s largest islands, achieving numerous tasks and even seeking treasure.

There wasn’t a ton of depth to the story in the parts I played, but the gameplay was excellent. Even though I was on a mission, I found it just as entertaining to climb a tree close to the town’s origin and launch Tchia into a glide so that we could cover more ground.

This allowed me to let go of my glide and try new things, like performing acrobatics in the air or transforming my spirit into an animal. When you’re on Tchia, you’ll feel like you’ve got everything you need to make the world your oyster.

Aside from that, I forgot that you’re also a talented ukulele player. Tchia is unique in that it has a fully functional ukulele. During my demo, I could play the ukulele at any moment, and there were a few points in the story where I had to keep time with Tchia as she sang a particular song.

You can perform whatever you like, but some melodies unlock special features à la The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The effects of these songs vary, from making it night or day to granting Tchia the ability to breathe underwater indefinitely as a bonus.

Tchia: The Open World Game You Didn’t Know You Needed

Even while I’ve used a crab to solve problems in adventure games before, I don’t think I’ve ever actually become a crab to do so. True, but that’s what I do in the open-world adventure beta. When I see a chain that needs to be severed, I use Tchia.

I grabbed a crab off the beach and threw it in my bag earlier. Now I “soul jump” into it, having essentially possessed the crab after removing it from its shell and placing it on the ground. Then, I creep over to the chain and utilize its newfound pincers to cut it in half.

Then I transfer back into my human body, grab the crab, and put it back in my knapsack. Neato. That’s one of the many practical uses for soul-jumping magic in Tchia, Awaceb’s open-world RPG. The game’s aesthetic was influenced by the island of New Caledonia, located in the southwestern Pacific Ocean, where the company’s founders spent their formative years.

While it may seem to limit only to being able to explore a third of a game area at a time, the island I am now on is surprisingly large, considering I am only playing the beta. It’s also aesthetically pleasing, a lush, tropical environment full of beaches, forests, mountains, rivers, villages, camps, hidden caves, and deep tunnels.

In addition, the area is home to a wide variety of stunning animals, including land mammals like deer and boar, reptiles like lizards and birds, and marine creatures like fish, sharks, and sea turtles.

Half-Life 2: Painting Ravenholm Red and White with Death and Destruction

Steam was a year old when Half-Life 2 came out, but my dad and I didn’t bother with it because of its military green color. When I wanted to play Half-Life 2, I had to put the disc in one of those cumbersome CD cases that required some force to click into place and felt flimsy in my hands when I swung open the cover.

The cover prominently featured Ravenholm, the town everyone warns you not to visit yet where we find ourselves regardless of whether or not there was a manual or artwork included with the CD.

My earliest recollections of Half-Life 2 are, to put it mildly, chaotic. Only in the HL2 beta did the zombies wear blue civilian jumpsuits, and there was also that CD case. Like other PC games, the original copies of Half-Life 2 were sold in DVD boxes. Therefore I can’t find it online.

And Gordon and Alyx, not Ravenholm, are the ones who are depicted in the artwork most of the time. Regardless, one of my first recollections of a game that would go on to become a favorite is of rushing across Ravenholm with the gravity gun and throwing paint cans to stain those blue overalls white.

    Read More:

This was the scariest level but also the one that could be introduced to a child with the slightest difficulty. However, I grew up in a household where slasher movies were regular fare. My father took my brother and me to the movies weekly, and he would repeatedly play the same scary movies, like Alien and Evil Dead (Fortnite).

By comparison, Ravenholm’s gut-wrenching difficulties were a cakewalk. You’re given a new tool at the outset—the gravity gun—and the whole level serves as a giant playground where you can experiment. Zombies can be killed with various household items, including paint cans, explosive barrels, and sawblades.

As a kid, I used to constantly repeat the level and play it from beginning to end, attempting different strategies for defeating each opponent, which took away from the overall fright factor. Once I figured out how to use the gravity gun to shove headcrabs until they passed out, I stopped worrying about them getting away.

Then I learned how many bruising poison zombies could be taken out with a simple wooden box. I have forgotten the correct response, but I recall passing away more often than is comfortable.

After a while, I had seen every last sight and done every last activity in Ravenholm. Fortunately, my father had discovered (or, more likely, researched online) a change-level command flaw that allowed him to reintroduce the blue gravity cannon from the game’s conclusion into earlier stages.

The blue gravity gun is an upgraded version of the standard black one, allowing the user to rip larger objects off walls and kill foes with a single grab. You can no longer use the crowbar or any other weapon because this is the only means of bringing down the Citadel from within once you have it.

Imagine how strong it would feel in a town full of zombies, given how effective it is against the Combine’s human empire’s nerve center. Although I recall feeling unstoppable, I don’t remember efficiently eradicating my enemies and adversaries.

Instead, I recognize that it could make cloned corpses of indestructible NPCs, which you could throw around everywhere and have the living NPCs ignore your actions and carry on with their predetermined scripts as if nothing had occurred.

It was the same kind of gallows humor I found amusing in the original Half-Life when I would sneak in trip mines and scatter them throughout the pre-disaster areas. It had returned, but with a new powerplant.

It’s fun to comb over the nearly two decades’ worth of memories I’ve made while playing Half-Life 2—I do so at least twice a year. Even though I remember the opening, City 17, G-Man, Barney dropping the crowbar, and the boat level, Ravenholm is the most memorable because of my associations with it, the constant reboots, and the different ways in which I was challenged to conclude.

Even though I’m sure it drove my father crazy to see my stall out on Nova Prospekt and the later levels, I’m glad I didn’t know because, to this day, the sound of a far-off crow and the low hum that creeps in as you take that first step still gives me the chills.

  • Resident Evil 8 PS5 Upgrade to Next-Gen for Free and Experience the Horror Like Never Before!

Resident Evil 8 PS5 Upgrade to Next-Gen for Free and Experience the Horror Like Never Before!

At the PlayStation 5 reveal event, Capcom revealed Resident Evil 8, a next-generation survival horror game exclusive to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X. For months, fans of Resident Evil 8 on PS4 and Xbox One assumed they would need to update to newer hardware because Capcom never mentioned a last-gen version of the game.

Since then, however, we know such is not the case. Capcom announced Resident Evil 8 (Village) for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One during their January 21 showcase event. Resident Evil 8 will also launch simultaneously for PS4, Xbox One, PS5, and Xbox Series X. On its May 7 release date, Resident Evil 8 will be playable by players without the means to purchase the latest platforms.

Capcom reassures those who prefer to wait for the next-gen release that they can upgrade to the current version at no cost. Anyone who purchases Resident Evil 8 digitally on PS4 will receive the PS5 version at no additional charge.

    Resident Evil 8 PS5 Upgrade

At the same time, those who buy it for Xbox One can play the Xbox Series (Exclusive) X version through the Smart Delivery service. Those who believe Resident Evil 8 for an older console will be able to experience the improvements made for the next-gen version at no additional cost.

While Capcom has not provided an official explanation, fans might speculate why the company hasn’t always confirmed Resident Evil 8 on PS4 and Xbox One. The possibility of Resident Evil 8 coming to PS4 and Xbox One was initially suggested by Capcom a few months ago, though the company made no firm assurances at the time.

    Read More:

Capcom presumably had a hard time reducing the scope of Resident Evil 8 for the older consoles, but it appears to have pulled it off now. Despite Resident Evil 8’s shift to a cross-gen release instead of a full-fledged next-gen release, it will feature enhancements only available on the most recent generation of game systems.

Resident Evil, eight on next-gen consoles will run faster, look better, and have no load times. If you’re playing the game on more powerful hardware, you should notice a considerable improvement in framerate.

Meanwhile, PS5 owners can get a sneak peek at Resident Evil 8 before the rest of the world. This evening, the PlayStation Store will host a trial of Resident Evil 8 for the PS5, allowing players to check out the game’s visuals on Sony’s newest console. On May 7th, players may purchase Resident Evil 8 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.

  • CD Projekt Raises the Bar with Phantom Liberty Add-On!

CD Projekt Raises the Bar with Phantom Liberty Add-On!

According to CD Projekt investor relations manager Marek Bugdo, speaking to Polish outlet Parkiet, the Phantom Liberty DLC for Cyberpunk will be the studio’s most expensive post-launch add-on.

This was first reported in English by Wccftech. This was emphasized by CD Projekt global PR director Radek Grabowski on Twitter, calming a wave of speculation that the long-awaited expansion would be bigger and better than The Witcher 3 Next Gen‘s critically acclaimed Blood and Wine.

    Phantom Liberty
    Phantom Liberty

CDPR has a solid history of supporting its games with updates after their initial releases. Apart from the remastered versions of The Witchers, the expansions for The Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine are the gold standard for video game add-ons. Especially the latter DLC, which, for only $20, added an entirely new open world zone, a Gwent faction, and a substantial main quest line, will be hard to top.

CDPR has been keeping its cards close to its chest since the backlash to Cyberpunk 2077‘s lengthy marketing cycle, but I’d be happy even if Phantom Liberty were a game with a scope somewhere between Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine.

The original expansion is still my favorite, with its fascinating story and one of the best villains I’ve ever seen in a game. There’s no pressing need for a brand-new zone here; Night City has plenty of unused space that could be improved with additional missions and characters.

The addition of full voice acting from Idris Elba and Keanu Reeves helps explain Phantom Liberty Trailer‘s higher price tag, but these days it takes more time and money to make a video game in general. However, I have high hopes for Phantom Liberty because I want it to follow in the footsteps of Hearts of Stone and demonstrate CDPR’s ability to tell unusual, engaging, and incredible stories.

  • 3.5 Update Brings Back Fan-Favorites in Genshin Impact Leaks

3.5 Update Brings Back Fan-Favorites in Genshin Impact Leaks

According to the latest Genshin Impact leak, three playable characters may have their banners recycled in the upcoming update 3.5. HoYoverse has recently increased the frequency of reruns as the roster of playable characters has grown.

The Hydro bow user Yelan and the fan-favorite Pyro DPS Hu Tao will return for the second half of the current Genshin Impact version 3.4 Weapon Banner. Two new playable characters, Dehya and Mika, will be added to the game in update 3.5, as announced on the game’s official social media accounts.

Given that Dehya is now officially a five-star character, the next patch will introduce not one but two double banners. Since patch 2.3.1, players have had the chance to pull for two rare 5-star characters during the same banner cycle thanks to the introduction of “double banner re-runs.”

The same four players have appeared in both banners. A new leak on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit suggests that popular characters Cyno, Eula, and Albedo will be featured in banner re-runs in Update 3.5.

    Genshin Impact
    Genshin Impact

Most players anticipate Eula’s return above the other two characters because she has not been featured on a banner since patch 2.3.1. Eula, wielder of the Cryo claymore, is a top-tier damage dealer in Genshin Impact.

    Read More:

For many different Genshin Impact team builds, Eula’s Physical damage dealing is a great asset. Due to Eula’s rerun, her signature weapon, Song of Broken Pines, will likely be highlighted on the weapon banner. There are many comments from people who are surprised that Cyno, an Electro user released a few months ago in update 3.1, will be getting a second chance at fame.

    3.5 banners
    byu/FIGJAM17 inGenshin_Impact_Leaks

Many players may have chosen to forego Cyno to save Primogems for later use on Nahida, Wanderer, or even Nilou, which may have contributed to HoYoverse’s decision to re-release him. Many fans see Dehya as the Pyro version of Cyno, and some commenters have pointed out that it would be funny if the two appeared on the same banner.

This list concludes with Albedo, a reliable Geo support that can be used in various team setups. The legendary alchemist of Mondstadt is an excellent choice for those seeking a powerful supporting Genshin Impact character that will not detract from the party’s primary elemental response.

Available now on mobile devices, desktop computers, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 is the action game Genshin Impact. In the works is a Switch port.

  • Price of Power: A Look at Marvel’s Avengers Free Cosmetics

Price of Power: A Look at Marvel’s Avengers Free Cosmetics

Although it’s a live-service game based on a well-known IP, opinions on Marvel’s Avengers are split. Many players are dissatisfied with Marvel’s Avengers since developers recycled so few bosses, opponents, and match kinds.

While more playable characters were added throughout time, most merely replicated existing characters’ abilities rather than offering anything new. However, following the upcoming update, the development of Marvel’s Avengers will close, and post-launch support will end.

Gamers may view this information as positive or destructive depending on their previous interactions with the game. It’s great that the Winter Soldier could make it into Marvel’s Avengers before the show was canceled, but it seems like there were a lot of other ideas for episodes and characters that never got created. Perhaps it was too little, too late, but as of March 31st, Update 2.8 is the last scheduled update.

All previously paid-for cosmetic items for Marvel’s Avengers are now available to players at no additional cost in this update, which may disappoint those who have already invested in their favorite characters.

    Marvel's Avengers Free Cosmetics
    Marvel’s Avengers Free Cosmetics

All the cosmetics in Marvel’s Avengers marketplace are now free for players

The upcoming update for Marvel’s Avengers will include all cosmetic stuff from the Marketplace, Challenge Cards, and Shipments without charging additional fees. This is a huge win for gamers and a testament to their dedication since launch. Marvel’s Avengers will no longer receive updates after September, and credit purchases are no longer possible.

One could argue that Marvel’s Avengers put the most emphasis on cosmetics, with nearly every content update adding a new set of skins for various characters. As an analogy, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) costumes used by the Avengers provided excellent roleplaying opportunities for moviegoers. However, Marvel Spider-Man 2 will always be a PlayStation exclusive.

There is a lot of interest in MCU skins; on March 31st, they will be made available to everyone. However, players will receive every obtainable Takedown, Emote, and Nameplate as part of their cosmetics pack at no additional cost.

The game is enhanced by having access to every Takedown since players can watch a wide variety of active finisher animations that were previously only available to subscribers.

    Read More:

It’s great that the Marketplace gate in Marvel’s Avengers will be removed. The conversion of Credits into Units, Fragments, Upgrade Modules, Polychoron, and DNA Keys is a fantastic way to swap that currency. In any case, users may still get cosmetics from in-game cosmetic dealers.

A Bad Deal for Customers Who Bought Marvel’s Avengers Makeup

Fans previously frustrated by the inability to buy cosmetics for Marvel’s Avengers may rejoice, as the game’s multiplayer mode will finally allow them to play in their preferred attire. Those who have invested real money in purely aesthetic microtransactions will be disadvantaged.

Fans did not anticipate that post-launch support for Marvel’s Avengers would expire so quickly, nor did they know that all cosmetics would become accessible at some point. Nevertheless, those fans who chose to spend money on cosmetics did so voluntarily because they wanted them then.

Despite this, it’s highly improbable that fans will be pleased with their purchases once they learn that these cosmetics will be made available to everyone for free later. Now, you can get Marvel’s Avengers for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5(Exclusive Deathloop), PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, but after September 30th, 2023, you won’t be able to.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 brings Piccolo’s power to new heights with an orange transformation

As of late, screenshots of the orange Piccolo from Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 have been making the rounds on the internet. Fans of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 were given a cause to check in with the release of Dragon Ball Super: Broly, and it appears that content from the film, such as orange Piccolo, may not be delayed for long.

Orange Piccolo has made his debut in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, as shown in the first screenshots on Twitter. The second downloadable content pack, Hero of Justice, will contain Orange Piccolo and two other playable characters, four parallel missions, seven new moves, four new outfits and accessories, and five Super Souls to award bonus multipliers.

To enable fans of the film to continue to commemorate its numerous landmark moments, like the birth of orange Piccolo, the Hero above of Justice Pack focuses nearly exclusively on material from Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. One of the many Twitter users sharing two screenshots of an orange Piccolo in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is DbsHype.

Two screenshots of orange Piccolo from Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero show the character attacking the camera with flexed arms. In contrast, a third indicates the Namekian hero stretching one arm to incredible lengths. In Xenoverse 2, like his green counterpart in Dragon Ball Z, Orange Piccolo can use his Demon Hand to hold onto an opponent.

Bandai Namco hinted at a second Dragon Ball Z Xenoverse 2 Hero of Justice Pack with a glimpse of an orange Piccolo, giving gamers their first look at what’s to come in the upcoming DLC. It is assumed that Orange Piccolo will have the same arsenal as the original Namekian.

Still, the release of the variety may be accompanied by the stunning power-up ability activated when Piccolo’s life is in peril in the film. The spectacular Namek transformation may not arrive in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 for some time, as Bandai Namco hasn’t finalized the orange Piccolo specifics.

Fans have responded enthusiastically to the orange Piccolo in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, published in June, thanks mainly to Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. In addition to Xenoverse 2, several modern Dragon Ball games are constantly being updated, such as DBZ: Kakarot, the soon-to-be-retired Dragon Ball Card Warriors, and the just-released Dragon Ball: The Breakers. Now available for the Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One are Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2.
