Todd Howard Makes Fallout Fans Dreams Come True with Fallout 5 Announcement!

Fallout 5 is currently being developed and verified. Several interpretations are possible, but the most likely one is that progress is being made. There is not much information available now, notably official information from Bethesda. There are two games whose releases are known to occur before Fallout 5.

Starfield is the first Bethesda title due out before Fallout 5, and thankfully it won’t be long until that happens. The Elder Scrolls 6 comes after that, but it is even further off. Depending on the progress of these other projects, we will likely not see Fallout 5 for a long time.

Here is everything we know about Fallout 5 thus far, from official statements to hearsay. Fallout 5 news is likely to begin trickling out following the release of Starfield and Bethesda’s announcement of Elder Scrolls 6. We will be updating this page as soon as we have more information.

Embark on a New Journey in the Fallout World

There may not be a set release date for Fallout 5, but fans are already excited. Optimistic forecasts have been made, but considering Bethesda’s current concentration on Starfield and The Elder Scrolls 6, plus the fact that the game hasn’t even been disclosed, we don’t expect it for quite some time.

We now anticipate Fallout 5’s release date to be far in the future, maybe exceeding the seven-year gap between Fallout 3 (2008) and Fallout 4’s release in 2013. (2015). It seems more likely to happen after 2025 at this point.

How far along the various games are at Bethesda is a factor. Given that Todd Howard revealed in a November 2021 interview with IGN that the studio has a “one-pager on Fallout 5” – a broad sketch of what they want it to be – we don’t expect to hear anything more about it for some time.

In addition, in June 2022, when interviewed by IGN, Howard indicated that Fallout 5 would be the next project for Bethesda following The Elder Scrolls 6. We anticipate a lengthy wait for the next Fallout, given the game is still in pre-production and its release is likely a few years away.

Although it has not been officially announced, Fallout 5 will most likely be released for the Xbox One, Xbox One X, Xbox One S, and PC. Unless, of course, we’re already considering the next generation of gaming systems. While PS5 is another story entirely.

Since Microsoft recently acquired Bethesda, it makes sense that they would make this game exclusive to their platform. It’s unclear whether Xbox will get a whole on a new Bethesda game, as the company has stated that such decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis.

At the very least, we can anticipate Fallout 5 being included in Xbox Game Pass Games. Fallout 5’s release on these systems looks possible, given that console lifecycles typically span roughly seven years before the following next-generation plans are announced.

Where Will the Next Fallout 5 Adventure Lead Us?

Anyone who has played a Fallout game knows how much the series adores its post-nuclear America. Considering how every previous Fallout game took place in a different state in the United States, it’s safe to assume this won’t change. You can compare the locations of Fallout 3’s Washington, DC, with Fallout 4’s Boston, Massachusetts.

While it would be interesting for Fallout to visit new locations, doing so may turn off players who have invested a lot of time into getting to know the game’s established environment. It’s not hard to find Fallout 5 players speculating on the game’s setting.

The most talked-about locations are as follows:

    New Orleans

A trademark application for “Fallout New Orleans” was discovered online in 2016, sparking rumors that a new Fallout game might be based in New Orleans. More than five years later, this listing hasn’t led to anything, although it could all be an intelligent hook and switch.

Even though Fallout has taken us to a few mucky locales, a game centered in the American South could be a refreshing change of pace.

    Chicago

In terms of plausibility, this one is a little further out there. Fans of Fallout: New Vegas may recall a hint at an Enclave outpost in Chicago, and from that comes the speculation that the game would be set in the Windy City.

    Anywhere else in the world

Could Fallout 5 be the first in the series to be set anywhere other than the United States? The opportunity to alter the visual style of the entire map and locales would be significantly enhanced by a game that took place in Korea, China, Russia, or some other country. If the franchise needs a visual reboot, a new installment is a perfect time to do it.

Will Fallout 5 Take Over Multiplayer Gaming?

There has never been a multiplayer option in a main series Fallout game. While exploring the post-apocalyptic wasteland with a group of buddies was likely appealing to fans, the implementation in Fallout 76 was largely unsuccessful.

Since the developers of Fallout 76 (Update) continually work to improve the online multiplayer experience, Fallout 5 will likely be developed as a single-player game alone. Considering the game’s troubled past with 76, a “poor” multiplayer experience in Fallout 5 might be disastrous. It sounds like something Bethesda would want to steer clear of at this point.

However, that doesn’t rule out the possibility of social elements. A social system where players leave comments for one another to offer advice (or troll them) is possible, but it could feel out of place in the universe of Fallout, as seen in games like Dark Souls and Bloodborne.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Is Fallout New Vegas 2 confirmed?

Developers Obsidian Entertainment have denied reports that they are working on a sequel to their 2010 game Fallout: New Vegas. The Fallout series will be 25 years old in October 2022, and to honour the occasion, Bethesda will be holding contests, deals, and more all month long.

    Where is Fallout 5 located?

The setting and location for Fallout 5 are obviously unknown, but past titles have all featured in a US state; so we can expect this to be the same again. Fallout 3 was in Washington, before moving north to Boston in Fallout 4. Fallout 76 saw players move back south to West Virginia.

Will Fallout 5 be Xbox only?

Microsoft has confirmed there are three future Bethesda games that will be exclusive to Xbox. Some people think that of these three games, Elder Scrolls 6 and Fallout 5 could be among the ones that will be exclusive. However, this would be a first.Dec 27, 2022

  • Hardcore Royale Mode: An Apex Legends Adventure, Lacking the Finishing Touch!

Hardcore Royale Mode: An Apex Legends Adventure, Lacking the Finishing Touch!

The lack of new content in Apex Legends has been noticeable recently. There is a lost chance to address the lack of Legend adjustments with each new event in Season 15: Eclipse of Apex Legends.

Shadow Royale and Winter Express are two examples of once-exciting seasonal events that have grown boring owing to a lack of new ideas. Control mode is a fan favorite, but Respawn Entertainment can only bring it back so many times until fans start looking for something new.

For this reason, it was no surprise that gamers were ecstatic to learn that the Celestial Sunrise Collection Event will also introduce a new Hardcore Royale time-limited mode.

The most popular game types in Apex Legends are Trios and Ranked Leagues; therefore, it makes sense to make both harder. Though first entertaining, the thrill of Hardcore Royale soon fades.

    Apex Legends
    Apex Legends

Hardcore Royale Games Like Apex Legends Thrive on Fewer Health and Shields

Trios is different from Hardcore Royale in several significant ways. To harken back to a time before Evo Shields and when armor changing was more crucial, all players begin matches with only level 1 Body Shields and no Helmets. However, this feature has been removed entirely in Hardcore Royale.

This makes it more challenging to take down multiple foes at once, and instead of stealing their Death Boxes, players are encouraged to employ the game’s animated finishers to recharge their shield. Gibraltar, Newcastle, and Caustic are just a few examples of fortified Legends that can take more hits before being critically damaged.

More prominent Legends are more vulnerable to headshots due to the size of their hitboxes. Given that wearing a helmet mitigates the effects of being shot in the head in Apex Legends (promotional codes), the lack of helmets in Hardcore Royale makes headshots extremely dangerous.

Players must also be cautious of their health about the ring, as having lowered shields, no helmets, and the removal of armor swapping is already a significant disadvantage. Compared to Duos, Trios, and Ranked Leagues, where ring damage increases with each subsequent round, the rings in Hardcore Royale do their maximum damage right from the get-go.

This makes it possible for the call to quickly and efficiently eradicate any players who find themselves on the outside. However, Heat Shields, generally effective at protecting players from ring damage, become mostly ineffective in high-damage rings since they deplete so quickly. Due to the presence of a non-player element, players are compelled to rotate early.

    Hardcore Royale’s paranoia-inducing information lack

Hardcore Royale also has a small selection of HUDs. Mini-maps and ally health bars are hidden by default, so players must view the entire map to see them. While having a vast map on-screen may seem like a simple solution to get around the mode’s restricted HUD features, it makes combat more challenging.

Hardcore Royale lacks features in similar games, such as a health meter for teammates or a minimap. Players must either carefully count their shots (easier to do with a slow-firing weapon like a Wingman) or frequently reload to compensate for this.

Inspecting the available weapon is another option for getting around the absence of an ammo counter. It may seem that the data being concealed by the shrunken HUD is negligible, but when players are in the middle of combat, they’ll quickly learn just how crucial the information is.

Extreme Battle Royale Play in Apex Legends Is Its Only Mode of Operation

Hardcore Royale is essentially just Trios with a minimal HUD and other components removed. The main distinction is that players perish more frequently, shortening the length of games. Hardcore Royale is clumsy due to a lack of context, and it’s easy to imagine players returning to Duos, Trios, and Ranked Leagues once they’ve filled the new limited-time game.

Unlike the game modes Armed and Dangerous (which provides lower armor and exclusively provides shotguns and sniper rifles to play with) and Ring Fury, Hardcore Royale doesn’t have much of a twist to it (which includes ring flares in addition to the standard ring).

Hardcore Royale removes more features than standard battle royale modes than it adds. Hardcore Royale is one of Apex Legends’ poorer limited-time modes, despite its admirable attempt to replicate the hardcore modes of other brands.

The battle royale game Apex Legends is out now for mobile devices, personal computers, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox One X/S.

Watch Orisa Conquer the Flag in These Overwatch 2 Highlights!

An Overwatch 2 player shared a video of a Capture the Flag match in which their teammate Orisa employed a masterful tactic to secure victory. Overwatch 2’s Capture the Flag mode is a cooperative mode in which players work together to steal the enemy team’s flag and safely return it to their base.

If you don’t want to play in ranked matches, Overwatch 2 offers a range of casual game options. Overwatch 2’s classic matches are shaken up in these variants by introducing new team sizes and playing fields.

In most cases, these modes rotate daily and are meant to act as a warmup for players before more tough games or as a means to have fun with friends without any pressure. Until the end of the Lunar Year 2023 event, players can choose between two Capture the Flag game modes: the standard mode and the faster-paced Blitz option.

    Overwatch 2
    Overwatch 2

A Reddit user who goes by the handle “MOCbKA” in Overwatch 2 (Voice Recording) posted footage of their buddy Orisa making a spectacular play while playing Capture the Flag.

Orisa used her ultimate ability, Terra Surge, to pull four of MOCbKA’s opponents through the hole in the middle of the Oasis University primary battle site as MOCbKA, playing the tank hero Doomfist from Overwatch 2, arrived to grab the flag.

This cunning plan eliminated most of the opposition, leaving only Lucio to protect the flag from Doomfist. This fantastic Orisa plays made a point for the tank team since the hero captured the flag and took it back to safety.

Comments on the video showcased Overwatch 2 players’ attempts to replicate Orisa’s game-changing maneuver. On the Ilios Well map, most players who used this tactic fell to their deaths because they couldn’t catch their opponents.

The considerable risk of dying alone and wasting an ultimate ability is emphasized. However, some argue that this strategy might also work in Overwatch 2 competitive games. New Lunar Year 2023 in Overwatch is where you can play Capture the Flag until February 6.

Overwatch 2’s PvE mode has not been revealed, but Blizzard may talk about the future of its FPS at Blizzcon 2023, as the convention will return after a three-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 epidemic. You can now get Overwatch 2 on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox One S.

  • No Man’s Sky Goes Back in Time with This Amazing Retro Box Art

No Man’s Sky Goes Back in Time with This Amazing Retro Box Art

An avid No Man’s Sky player has taken it upon themselves to make some throwback box art for the game as if it were launched in the good ol’ days of gaming. Nowadays, “demaking” a modern game is more frequent than ever.

Fans have remade Resident Evil to resemble a 16-bit Sega Genesis game, while Bloodborne has been transformed for the PlayStation 1 to look more retro. The massive geographical size of No Man’s Sky, which is claimed to consist of about 18 quintillion planets, was one of the greatest draws when Hello Games pumped up its IP a few years before the game’s 2016 release.

    No Man's Sky
    No Man’s Sky

Even if you didn’t play it at launch, you’ve probably heard about the developer’s outrage once it was revealed that the game’s content had been overstated. However, the British studio has now made amends, and after a slew of patches, NMS now appears to have found its footing and is well praised.

Some No Man’s Sky players like displaying their love for the game in ways that aren’t directly related to its creative features, such as its base building mechanisms. Take sponged, a user on Reddit.

Two photos posted recently on the site hint towards a parallel chronology in which NMS was published for far older devices including the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and the Sega Dreamcast.

The two pictures are equally remarkable, as they capture the style of the games that would have been launched on both platforms back in the day.

One commenter suggested making the game resemble an old PC release, replete with massive cardboard box packing, and many others praised spongeldn for their efforts. Unfortunately, the Sega Dreamcast was discontinued so quickly.

Despite its forward-thinking features—including internet access at a period when wired connections at home were still rare—it failed to gain widespread popularity when it was first released in 1999. Something as big as No Man’s Sky would have been a good test for Sega’s final platform.

Since the Nintendo Switch version of No Man’s Sky isn’t due out until 2022, the chaos of its initial release more than six years ago is quickly becoming a distant memory.

Over the years, the fan base has grown into a loyal community thanks to Hello Games’ attentiveness to player input and the studio’s generous distribution of free downloadable content.

Playable platforms for No Man’s Sky include personal computers, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox One X/S.

  • The Callisto Protocol Outperforms Dead Space Remake in Benchmark Tests!

The Callisto Protocol Outperforms Dead Space Remake in Benchmark Tests!

On the same day the Dead Space remake was released, someone ran a benchmark test on it with an Nvidia RTX 4090 graphics card and discovered that it couldn’t keep up with playable framerates. The runner claims that Motive’s updated version of the classic survival horror film from 2008 does not perform as well as The Callisto Protocol.

While The Callisto Protocol by Striking Distance Studios may not have succeeded as well as director Glen Schofield had hoped in terms of sales, and fans were worried about performance concerns when the game premiered, it did receive some positive reviews.

Now that Isaac Clarke is back, Ishimura’s claustrophobic body terror may be relieved in all its terrifying detail. There are a lot of differences between the original Dead Space and this new edition, but it still manages to keep what fans loved about the original.

    The Callisto Protocol
    The Callisto Protocol

The most noticeable alteration is undoubtedly Clarke’s voice acting by Gunner Wright, who previously portrayed the alien-stomping engineer in Dead Space 2 and 3. However, despite the remake’s widespread acclaim, some issues were discovered during a performance evaluation.

DSO Gaming has reported that the Nvidia RTX 4090, capable of delivering 60 frames per second, has trouble paying those frames in Dead Space. Given this, the paper continues, The Callisto Protocol operates considerably more smoothly.

A video of the remake’s prologue for the Nintendo DS may be seen on YouTube, with a framerate that doesn’t seem to go much higher than 50. However, several commenters have claimed to have achieved outstanding performance with a 4090.

While the tester acknowledges that the game’s performance improves significantly after the opening cutscene, they also note that there are still certain instances where the framerate falls below 60fps.

One player speculated that the test CPU’s temperature of nearly 100 degrees Celsius was to blame, while another said restarting their system improved performance.

Whatever the situation, it may be an outlier and have nothing to do with the game’s overall performance. Dead Space was re-released on January 27 to generally positive reviews. Critics praised the game’s ability to improve upon 2008 original while still preserving the qualities that made it famous to fans.

The renaissance of horror is continuing strong, especially regarding remakes, as evidenced by the impending release of Resident Evil 4 and Bloober Team’s reinvention of Silent Hill 2. Fans of terrifying video games have a lot to look forward to, as Dead Space demonstrates. You can now purchase Dead Space for PC, PS5, and Xbox One S.

  • Cyberpunk 2077 Bars Level Up with New Immersive Drinking Animations

Cyberpunk 2077 Bars Level Up with New Immersive Drinking Animations

Players of Cyberpunk 2077 who enjoy drinking in Night City will appreciate a new update that adds animations to make the experience more realistic. CD Projekt Red’s open-world game, which was heavily influenced by the 1982 science fiction picture Blade Runner, was one of the most anticipated games of 2020.

Unfortunately, many individuals who bought the game on older systems were dissatisfied with the launch because of a slew of flaws that made the game nearly unplayable. Thankfully, a great deal of time and effort has passed since then, and the developer has been able to fix many of the game’s most serious issues.

    Cyberpunk 2077
    Cyberpunk 2077

The game is now in much better shape, and many players have expressed their pleasure at being able to return to it. Cyberpunk 2077‘s Night City is packed with activities; its absence would have been lamentable. Players can enjoy simply exploring the city, and many enjoy stopping at one of the game’s bars.

A new update for Cyberpunk 2077 adds a bar to the game, perfect for those who want to kick back with a drink while controlling V. The Nexus Mods user “Deceptious,” as reported by The Gamer, has developed a new mod called “Immersive Bartenders,” which adds animations for when the player drinks alcohol in the game.

There are videos online showing it being used at bars like Corpo Plaza and Sunset Motel, where V orders one of a few alcoholic drinks and gulps it down. The modder claims that the mod is compatible with all of Night City’s bars and bartenders and that players will still feel the effects of the drink.

As was previously indicated, CDPR’s dystopian RPG offers various ways to pass the time. There have been complaints that the main story in Cyberpunk 2077 (System Specifications)  is too linear. Still, the game’s quest director has said this is likely due to the numerous branching paths available.

Most people in Night City would probably agree that the city and its many side missions have a considerable amount of non-linearity. The developer has shown an interest in continuing the story of Cyberpunk 2077 with the announcement of a sequel last year.

Although the game had a shaky launch a little over two years ago, much has been learned since then, and players are anxious for more. Cyberpunk 2077 may be purchased for the PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox One S.

Smallfry Plush: The Perfect Addition to Your Splatoon Collection!

If you’re a fan of Splatoon 3’s Little Buddy, you might be pleased to know that an official plush version is on the way. Later this year, the player’s friend will be gifted a cuddly plush toy. In Splatoon 3, the player’s trusty Smallfry companion, Little Buddy, was first introduced.

Unlike most Salmonids in the Splatoon series, Little Buddy is friendly to the player’s Inkling or Octoling and can even be helpful during the game’s story mode. It’s only natural that the Little Buddy from Splatoon 3 would be made into a plushie, as the character has been well-liked by fans ever since they were first teased.

The new plush will be available at the end of June as part of the Splatoon 3 All-Star Collection. It’ll be a while before it’s released, but before then, further information, probably including where fans may buy one, will be available.

    Splatoon
    Splatoon

The Splatoon 3 plush will most likely be sold in Japanese retail establishments, while its availability in other markets is a near certainty. Various stuffed Splatoon characters from earlier games have been made available through the All-Star Collection.

These include the Inkling and Octoling swimming forms, Judd and Li’l Judd, and fan-favorite non-playable characters like the games’ news-reporting idols. Fans should expect Shiver, Frye, and Big Man to join the lineup of official plush toys as well, but for now, they will have to wait.

In Splatoon 3 (Available Gameplay), the player gets to control a friendly Salmonid, a novel twist considering how much more prominent Salmon Run is compared to Splatoon 2. While Splatoon 2’s Salmon Run was well-received by players, its limited availability irked many enthusiasts.

In Splatoon 3, Salmon Run has been given a bit of a redux in the form of Big Run and is playable at all times of the day and year.

Some series fans have expressed interest in the possibility of playable Salmonids in future installments because of the juxtaposition of having a small friendly Salmonid as a companion while fighting hostile Salmonids more than before.

Plush toys based on Nintendo games have been bestsellers for years, and Splatoon is no exception. While it remains to be seen whether or not Splatoon will receive the Build-a-Bear treatment like other Nintendo titles, Pokemon and Animal Crossing, fans may at least look forward to new cute Splatoon 3 plush dolls this year. You can now get your hands on Splatoon 3 for the Nintendo Switch.

  • Genshin Impact Brave the Chasm Mines and Find Riches!

Genshin Impact Brave the Chasm Mines and Find Riches!

The two techniques for accessing the underground mines of The Chasm in Genshin Impact involve gliding to the center of the chasm’s maw. The entrance to the Underground Chasm may be the gateway to even greater explorations in Teyvat.

Afterward, gamers may use the new Teyvat map to get there quickly. For a long time, miners have used the Underground Chasm. However, before the protagonist wakes up, normal operations are suspended because of unexplained phenomena.

Since Genshin Impact came out, players have been eager to discover The Chasm. Now, with version 2.6, they can do just that. There are, however, several tasks that must be completed before the underground region can be explored.

Adventure Rank 28 is recommended for new players, as is completing Act 3 of Chapter 1 to access Chasm. In addition, to access the Chasm Underground Mines in Genshin Impact, you must have completed the Surreptitious Seven-Star Seal Sundering Quest.

Participants in The Chasm Delvers quest chain will have access to the new area and its features. The Chasm content has been out for a while, but there have been no updates, and there probably won’t be any until anything drastically changes.

Even with the addition of the Sumeru region to Genshin Impact, Chasm plays a significant role in the tale. There are many methods to enter Sumeru, some of which are more complicated than others. It is strongly suggested that players stick to the main story and join the Chasm Underground Mines to advance the Archon Quest in Sumeru, as this is the quickest and most direct method.

Players who aren’t as far along in the adventure may also consider unlocking the Chasm Underground Mines to enter Sumeru more efficiently and get some of the ascension and talent materials.

How To Enter The Chasm Underground Mines In Genshin Impact

In Genshin Impact, there are two ways to access the underground mines of The Chasm:

    1. Activate The Chasm’s Underground Mines’ elevator.
    2. Enter The Chasm’s Maw.

First, you’ll need to find a way to go to a lift above The Chasm’s depths. There’ll be a switch to flip on the mechanism once you get there. You’ll trigger a loading screen by clicking this link and be sent straight to the Chasm Underground Mines.

The second option requires Travelers to descend the massive shaft in the center of the Chasm. Drop damage won’t be a game-ender like it was at the Enkanomiya entrance in Genshin Impact. Since the character will be teleported soon after the loading screen, they can access the Chasm Underground Mines without delay.

    Read More:

When players first reach the mines below ground, a brief cutscene will begin, showing the Traveler making his way across one of the bridges. They’ll then meet up with Jinwu and Zhiqiong. Some time ago, a group of miners disappeared in the Underground Chasm, as Jinwu would explain.

Players need to investigate possible leads on Uncle He’s whereabouts to aid in this investigation. Unfortunately, nobody has seen or heard from Uncle He in a long time. Travelers looking for him must begin the quest Genshin Impact, Missing Miner.

If neither of these entrances works, it’s probably because the player hasn’t completed the Quest. The Underground Mines in The Chasm can only be accessed by destroying the Bedrock Keys in the Chasm section of Genshin Impact.

Unlocking the Lost Valley Domain in Fuao Vale is also highly recommended. Ayato Kamisato and Xiao receive the finest equipment from this Artifacts Domain. More so, the two-piece set is usable by nearly every playable character in Genshin Impact. Genshin Impact may now be purchased on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch port is currently in the works.

  • Survival at its Finest: A Look at Callisto Protocol vs The Last of Us Part 2!

Survival at its Finest: A Look at Callisto Protocol vs The Last of Us Part 2!

On paper, the Callisto Protocol’s avoidance mechanism looked novel and promising. Players rush out of the way of incoming blows to land a melee blow with Jacob Lee’s stun baton and then wait for an opportunity.

It’s satisfying to witness the same finisher animations over and over, but each impact from the baton feels substantial. The melee fighting in The Callisto Protocol remains unchanged unless the user spends all of their Callisto Credits on baton enhancements.

Melee fighting in The Callisto Protocol is more exciting and involved than the game’s gunplay, which employs a small arsenal of guns that all play similarly. It’s great that you can use the pistol to stun an opponent with an aim-bot shot following a melee combo, but this turns the handgun into a mechanic rather than a weapon.

The Callisto Protocol might have learned a lot from the nuanced inputs in The Last of Us Part 2 and avoided the claustrophobic dodges where the player cannot run. Melee confrontations in The Callisto Protocol work OK when players are facing off against a single foe, but when several attackers swarm the player, it becomes tough to escape.

    Callisto Protocol
    Callisto Protocol

Any movement players make is muted and overwritten by a dodge if adversaries are around. Trying to thumb backward on the stick will launch a block, as the Callisto Protocol maps its dodge input to hitchhiking left and right on the left post.

Moreover, the biophages in The Callisto Protocol take advantage of players turning their backs on them by seemingly striking them from further than their hitboxes would typically allow. It’s not a problem if the players prepare for a fight, but it can get in the way when they need to switch positions.

However, in The Last of Us Part 2, gamers may press L1 on the PS4 controller whenever they want to dodge away from danger quickly. This seems quite simplistic, yet it allows players to choose exactly when they want to avoid it.

The Callisto Protocol’s dodge system might have provided a similarly enjoyable experience with controls that were not rigorous in its design if it had been less experimental and more developed. To assume that the story DLC for The Callisto Protocol will provide significant modifications to the gameplay mechanics would be a vast oversimplification.

However, the Callisto Protocol might learn from its supporters’ praise and criticism to see if the dodging system needs any tweaks. Meanwhile, it would be interesting to see what happens to the gameplay if fans want to play as Dani Nakamura or another character instead of Jacob Lee.

This allows The Callisto Protocol to adapt its fighting style to the skills of a given character. Dani is noticeably shorter than Jacob. Therefore, it’s possible that she wouldn’t rely on swinging a baton during battle.

It would be cool if future works from The Callisto Protocol implemented diverse combat mechanisms, like Joel, Ellie, and Abby’s combat is each uniquely distinct based on the character’s size and capabilities in The Last of Us.

If for no other reason, The Callisto Protocol might assess its current battle approach’s strengths and weaknesses. As of right now, you can get your hands on The Callisto Protocol for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

  • Naming Baby After the God of War Legend

Naming Baby After the God of War Legend

Some parents fans of the God of War series even named their newborn after one of the characters. Sony Santa Monica Studio’s long-running action-adventure series God of War was published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation console.

PlayStation has a lengthy relationship with the God of War franchise, beginning with the PlayStation 2 release of the first God of War game. With God of War for PlayStation 4, the series entered a new phase as players followed a more experienced Kratos as he dealt with the challenges of fatherhood and tried to pay tribute to his late wife.

God of War and its sequel, Ragnarok, are dedicated to the Norse saga. Many of the characters in this storyline focus on family and familial ties and breaking generational curses as Sony Santa Monica attempts to transform Kratos from the vengeful god gamers know and love from the original trilogy.

When naming their newborn child, one sports fanatic wanted to honor their favorite team while honoring their passion for the game. An image of a hand-painted sign reading “Atreus” was shared on Reddit by user dejacute.

    Read More:

The vision is blurred in certain areas to protect the child’s identity, but hand-painted pine trees and placeholders for the infant’s date of birth, time of delivery, weight, and height are still visible. Kratos’s son Atreus plays a vital part in the Norse tale’s events and the upcoming God of War: Ragnarok (Streamer).

Several commenters expressed their appreciation for the enthusiastic fan. One user advised the parent to stop using his given name altogether until their child turned 13, just as Kratos frequently did with Atreus.

Another commenter joked that the new baby’s first name would be “whatever,” alluding to frustrating Atreus episodes. Others were harsher in their criticism, saying parents shouldn’t try forcing their kids into the fan community.

The God of War franchise holds a special place in the hearts of many players, and this is just one more way that video games have left an indelible mark on people’s lives.

However, this raises the ethical dilemma of whether it is acceptable for parents to impose their fanaticism on their children by giving them the names of their favorite fictional characters.

Join the Adventure in Horizon Forbidden West’s Multiplayer Alpha Footage Leak!

The Horizon: Forbidden West multiplayer game’s early alpha footage has been leaked online. Sony’s Guerrilla Games created the action RPG Horizon. Aloy, a teenage hunter of the Nora tribe, embarks on a mission to discover mysteries about the world she lives in and defend her people from numerous threats overseas.

This story is set in the post-apocalyptic United States. Gameplay in Horizon mainly involves Aloy employing a wide array of ranged and melee weaponry to fight hostile machine creatures that typically take the form of dinosaurs and other prehistoric beasts.

Since Horizon Zero Dawn’s PlayStation 4 debut, players have wondered if the game would ever support multiplayer in the vein of previous successful co-op titles like Monster Hunter. Guerrilla Games also announced late last year that a co-op Horizon game was in the works.

    Read More:

Alleged leaks of early alpha gameplay footage for a possible Horizon: Forbidden West multiplayer date back to 2020. The film features a cast of colorful-styled characters who venture into the world and combat mechanical foes. Gameplay-wise, it deviates significantly from the main Horizon titles, with its cartoonish appearance replacing the realistic one. Just go to that link to watch the video.

In the comments section, other players discussed their reactions to the leaked clip. Many players expressed a desire to see a Horizon game with robust hunting gameplay in the vein of the Monster Hunter games.

A user expressed enthusiasm for the game’s development, from its pre-alpha footage to the final result, highlighting the game’s use of the Decima engine as a critical factor. Several players have also commented on the game’s visual style, expressing their disappointment that the cartoonish aesthetic is more reminiscent of titles like Fortnite than Horizon: Forbidden West.

If natural, this leak adds to the countless online leaks of video game announcements and gameplay footage over the past few years. New information about games can be thrilling for fans, but we hope it doesn’t have a chilling effect on the creative minds behind them.

Until an official announcement is made, fans can look forward to Horizon Call of the Mountain, the Virtual Reality 2 system launch game, and Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores, a downloadable content expansion for the PS5.

  • Microsoft Response to Sony Call of Duty Protest Fails to Hold Up!

Microsoft Response to Sony Call of Duty Protest Fails to Hold Up!

According to reports, Sony is seeking to convince authorities to stop Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard once again, citing their continued belief that Microsoft will not provide them with parity on Call of Duty should they acquire the company.

Microsoft has assured the public on multiple occasions that this is not the case, going so far as to offer Sony decade-long contracts in exchange for the inclusion of Call of Duty on their system; nonetheless, as frustrating as it may be, there is no realistic scenario in which Sony cooperates.

Their protestations will either succeed in killing the deal, which is what they want, or they will fail, and the acquisition will go through, in which case Microsoft will hand them Call of Duty nonetheless. Microsoft’s argument here feels like it’s quickly rebuffed, and I wonder if, in the end, it’s going to sway regulators.

Still, I believe that Microsoft is telling the truth about being willing to keep Call of Duty on PlayStation, and Sony is lying about not believing Microsoft to cause trouble. After Sony’s recent rebuttal, Microsoft’s communications lead, Frank Shaw, resorted to Twitter to rehash old talking points.

    Call of Duty
    Call of Duty

Microsoft wants to sell copies of Call of Duty on PlayStation because, as the argument goes, Sony is the dominant player in the market. However, Microsoft’s “case by case” approach to implementing this idea leaves them vulnerable to criticism. And they…don’t seem to have the resources to respond that:

If Microsoft thinks it’s a good idea to sell Call of Duty on PlayStation, then it must also be a good idea to sell Redfall, Starfield, and the next Elder Scrolls game on PlayStation, right? This might amount to millions of dollars in sales for Xbox and PC. Still, Microsoft has done the arithmetic and decided it makes more “commercial sense” to keep these titles exclusive to those platforms rather than PlayStation.

Similarly, I believe that the inverse may be stated and at least appear to be true. Call of Duty is the most successful shooting game franchise in the world, and it may make “excellent commercial sense” for Microsoft to host the franchise exclusively on its consoles.

Many people are reacting negatively to this. One wonders why Microsoft has to adhere to this criteria, yet nobody wonders why PlayStation doesn’t port God of War, Spider-Man, or The Last of Us across to Xbox.

In contrast to Microsoft, attempting to convince regulators to accept the largest acquisition in video game history by a wide margin, Sony is not trying to acquire a $70 billion publisher and hence does not need to make such arguments. This means the requirements are more stringent.

This chart that Microsoft created to explain why games like Starfield and Redfall work well as exclusives but others like Call of Duty and Minecraft don’t was also brought to my attention. The argument here is that newer, unproven intellectual properties like Redfall and Starfield are worth more as exclusives than older, tried-and-true ones like Minecraft and Call of Duty, which must remain cross-platform because of their large, dedicated player bases.

Yes, but once we stop talking about those two games specifically, your reasoning falls apart. Even though the Elder Scrolls franchise has sold millions of copies across all platforms and is a widely established IP, Microsoft has strongly hinted that Elder Scrolls VI will likely be an Xbox exclusive.

At the latest count, 30 million copies of Skyrim had been purchased. Then why not release it for PlayStation? Since there is only one player, why? Especially if we’re talking about what does and does not make “business sense,” I’m at a loss to see the relevance of that statement.

An argument could be made that Call of Duty’s annual sales and microtransactions generate enough revenue to warrant cross-platform releases. Of course, Microsoft has its proprietary multiplayer games featuring microtransactions. After all, both Starfield and Elder Scroll will feature downloadable content.

Microsoft’s reasoning seems completely random regarding what they choose to make exclusive and what they don’t, and that’s the main problem. They can claim that it is in the company’s “best interests” to maintain Call of Duty on PlayStation.

Still, they can easily sidestep the question of the many other games that would sell just as many copies on any other platform. In this case, I have faith in Microsoft and doubt in Sony’s good intentions. But that’s irrelevant because I’m not a regulator, and they’ve shown to be far more dubious about the whole thing and have accepted Sony’s arguments so far. Microsoft is still optimistic that the acquisition will go through.

  • Unlocking the Mysteries of Forspoken through Poppets and Coins!

Unlocking the Mysteries of Forspoken through Poppets and Coins!

Frey is transported from New York to Athia without consent when she puts on the highly shiny Cuff from Forspoken. Now she must adapt to the many alterations her new cultural surroundings necessitate.

Frey spends most of the game feverishly trying to find a way out of Athia because it is nothing like her home country. The landforms, buildings, fashion, and currency are all distinct from those of New York.

Poppets and Old Coins are the two primary forms of currency in Athia. The former can be traded at the Book Store for information, while the latter can be used at the Trading Spot in Forspoken to purchase items like cloaks, nuggets, and Bumbershoot.

Find Out How to Harness the Power of Poppets and Old Coins in Forspoken

Forspoken PS5‘s specialty shops—the Trading Spot, Book Shop, Curiosity Shop, and Kitty Gift Shop—accept Poppets and Old Coins as payment. Players won’t be able to trade between these two Athian currencies until the fourth chapter.

This is because Olevia does not instruct Frey on creating and improving objects in Forspoken until Chapter 3. In the opening scene of Chapter 4, Pilo is standing in front of the Trading Spot and Book Shop.

A direction pointing toward an exchange indicates where you can find the Shops. However, when Frey reads through the chapters, their location shifts depending on the events occurring at that time.

    Where To Use Poppets

In Forspoken, poppets are a valuable yet scarce commodity. You can use them to buy one-of-a-kind products at the Trading Spot, such as:

    • Nugget: A lump of rare metal used to craft materials, like increasing the Medicine Pouch capacity.
    • Palerine: A Cloak that may restore health when Frey lands a Crit hit on an enemy.
    • Bumbershoot: A very rare mushroom used as a premium crafting material.
    • Stranith: A Cloak that has the effect of decreasing adverse status effects on Frey, like poisoning.

Frey can only get the Poppets from Forspoken by following stray cats from Cipal City. To those that do, the cute kitties will drop a pouch containing a Poppet as a prize.

    Where To Use Old Coins

Before the Split, Athia’s silver coins were much sought after due to their rarity and beauty. However, the coins have little value now that we have a cashless economy. Nevertheless, it can be traded in for books at the Book Shop or curiosities like:

    • Gravity Lantern: Allows Frey to gather mana over a wider area.
    • Comfy pillow: Grant the protagonist extra effects whenever she sleeps.
    • Crafting Pot: Convert natural resources into other forms.
    • Compass: Unlocks the Forge option, which allows Frey to gather items while camping.
    • Sewing Kit: Grants the ability to craft new Necklaces and Cloaks in Forspoken.

Visit the Curiosity Shop in Forspoken by teleporting to the Inner Visoria Belfry Tower. The next step is to travel to the furthest west and find a modest timber dwelling. The protagonist will meet the Curio Collector in that location, who will trade his fascinating wares for Old Coins in Forspoken.

At the Kitty Gift Shop, you can purchase a Scratching Board, Cat Grass, Ball, Cookpot, and a Toy for Frey’s Familiars with your Old Coins. After the corruption in Cipal City in Chapter 7 of Forspoken, the Kitty Gift Shop arrives. Forspoken can be purchased for PS5 and PC.

  • New Forza Motorsport Game Gears Up for Xbox One Launch – With a Twist!

New Forza Motorsport Game Gears Up for Xbox One Launch – With a Twist!

At the last Xbox and Bethesda Developer Direct, we saw gameplay for the next chapter in the Forza Motorsport franchise, which will be available exclusively through the cloud services of Xbox Game Pass on Xbox One consoles.

With the ray tracing capabilities of Microsoft’s flagship console, the next racing sim is said to perform at 4K 60FPS on the Xbox Series X with outstanding photorealistic images. In November 2023, the Xbox One will be a decade old, making it a venerable old game console.

    Forza Motorsport
    Forza Motorsport

Even a decade after its release, the Xbox One still receives occasional new titles, but most studios have moved on to producing next-gen games. It’s essential to put the new Forza Motorsport in context, as Forza Motorsport 5 was an Xbox One launch title.

Only with Xbox Cloud Gaming, part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, will the next Forza Motorsport game be playable on Xbox One. Fans of Microsoft’s popular racing game may be dismayed by this news, as the Xbox Cloud Gaming service requires a constant, high-speed internet connection and is only offered in a small number of countries.

Forza Motorsport will be accessible through Game Pass, as was previously announced. According to a January 2023 site update, the Forza Support Team is calling the new game the most technically advanced and accurate racing game it has ever developed.

    Read More:

Not all hope is lost for Microsoft’s Xbox One as 2023 begins; there will still be plenty of games for fans to enjoy if they want to hold off on switching to next-gen consoles. The new Forza Motorsport was only revealed for Xbox Series X/S and PC, and its hefty system requirements mean the Xbox One won’t be able to run it without significant emulation.

Although it may not be the best way to play racing games, the announcement that Forza Motorsport will be made available on Xbox Cloud Gaming will be well received by the service’s subscribers. Thanks to the addition of Forza Motorsport to the cloud gaming platform, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate users may play the game on various devices, including tablets, mobile phones, and Samsung smart TVs.

Currently, Forza Motorsport is expected to launch sometime in 2023. However, a specific date has not been set. In 2023, Forza Motorsport will be available for Windows and Xbox Series X/S consoles.

  • GoldenEye 007 Returns: Now Available on Switch and Xbox, But With Room for Improvement!

GoldenEye 007 Returns: Now Available on Switch and Xbox, But With Room for Improvement!

Rare’s acclaimed Nintendo 64 first-person shooter, GoldenEye 007. has finally been released on current systems after years of speculation, rumors, fan uproar, and endless online speculations. While this may be cause for celebration for some, the quality of these new ports isn’t nearly what was hoped for.

The good news is that, finally, after more than two decades, you can play GoldenEye on Xbox and Nintendo Switch. Even if you disagree with everything I’ve said here, it’s still great to play this old N64 game whenever you want in 2023.

Emulation has undoubtedly existed in the past, but this is different. Now, anyone with Game Pass and no prior experience with ROMs or similar technologies may download GoldenEye and play it the same way as any other modern video game.

    GoldenEye 007 Returns
    GoldenEye 007 Returns

Okay, that’s quite neat. It’s absurd to deny this reality, especially considering that different rights holders have been at odds over allowing this game to exist on various platforms. I’m afraid I have some bad news: This port is simplistic.

The lack of online multiplayer for the Xbox port was already known (it’s coming to Switch alone), but fans have discovered other issues since its release last night. This Xbox port is OK if you only want to relive the first few minutes of GoldenEye, which is undoubtedly the case for most folks giving the game a shot this weekend.

The original split-screen multiplayer mode is still available (do you still have that piece of cardboard to divide your TV screen in two?). If you’re looking to spend a lot of time with it, or if you’re a die-hard fan of the original game (maybe even via emulation), you might be let down.

Take the game’s fixed framerate of 30 as an example. Developers say this is because they use the game’s original ROM code to run it on Xbox. That’s not surprising, considering that the developers targeted a frame rate of 30 in the original game.

Fans, however, have found ways to circumvent this limit, and GoldenEye 007 on PC has been played at twice the framerate for years now. The video of one of these fan-made additions also highlights another problem with the recently released Xbox and Switch port: blurry writing.

The remaining ammunition count is blurry and difficult to read. Curiously, the game’s assets are sharper and better looking than the real-world equivalents. Once again, this is something the audience resolved long ago.

Other problems include off-putting audio glitches, faulty decals and textures, and easily discernible rips and seams in the geometry encountered while traversing levels. The developers of this HD remake of GoldenEye argue that these problems are merely the result of the game’s transition from standard to high definition. Many can also be found in the game’s original Nintendo 64 release.

Fan projects for GoldenEye, such as 1964 GEPD, have drastically improved the game’s visuals, even at 4K resolution, by eliminating issues like seams in the level. A small but vocal subset of GoldenEye 007 (Xbox Game pass) players have requested a patch to improve the game and address these problems.

This effort seems to be focused on getting GoldenEye working on modern hardware utilizing the same N64 emulation technology created for the 2015 vintage compilation Rare Replay. Thus, it’s unlikely that this will happen.

I wish there were more improvements made to this port, such as 60 frames per second, but I realize that the fact that GoldenEye 007 can even be played on an Xbox device is something of a minor miracle, given the legal baggage the game is stuck with.

I know where to look and how to implement more features on my computer if I so desire. But if I want to kick back for a while and play GoldenEye while lounging on the couch, this updated port will do the trick. Perhaps the 2021 remake that was leaked will be released to the public someday.
