Ananta Returns to the Spotlight

The Gamescom appearance gives Ananta another major public showcase following its Tokyo Game Show 2025 campaign.

In September 2025, NetEase and Naked Rain released a new seven-minute gameplay trailer showing more of the game’s open world, combat, traversal and city activities. The official Ananta website also hosts a longer 10-minute gameplay video released around the same period.

NetEase confirmed at the time that Ananta is being developed for PC, PlayStation 5 and mobile platforms. A release date has still not been announced.

Ananta Will Not Use Character Gacha

One of the more notable details about Ananta is its approach to character acquisition.

In a December 2025 interview, Naked Rain said it does not plan to implement character gacha mechanics. The studio explained that character acquisition has been designed without gacha so players can freely experience the game’s different characters and their lives.

The developer said Ananta will remain free-to-play, with monetisation focused primarily on character skins. Homes and vehicles will also include customisation elements obtainable using in-game currency.

What Will Ananta Show at Gamescom 2026?

For now, very little has been revealed about the actual Gamescom presentation.

Keighley has only promised a “fresh look” at Ananta, and neither NetEase nor Naked Rain has confirmed whether that means a new trailer, extended gameplay footage, new characters or another type of announcement.

There is also currently no confirmed release date or release window for the game.

That makes the August 25 appearance the next major opportunity for NetEase to reveal what has changed since Ananta’s 2025 gameplay showcase.
