Nintendo Brings Classic 2005 Puzzle Games To Switch Online

Nintendo’s Super Mario 40th Anniversary Collection Unveiled; Here’s What Fans Fear!

Nintendo has been celebrating Super Mario Bros.’ 40th anniversary since last September. As part of the celebration, it released several new Switch 2 games, including Mario Galaxy 1 + 2, Mario Tennis Fever and Super Mario Bros. Wonder Switch 2. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie was also released in more theaters.

Several new Mario-themed amiibo have also been released, along with the Talking Flower figure and Rosalina’s real-life storybook. If you think the celebrations are over, you are wrong! Recently, Nintendo took to X to announce a new 40th anniversary collection. However, some fans are worried about how it will be released and whether they will be able to get their hands on it.

The hype began after Nintendeal shared the first look at the Super Mario Bros. 40th anniversary pin set on X. The post mentioned that it would be a promotional item available at select retailers. Fans are already worried, as Nintendo promotions in the past have either had limited stock or sold out within minutes.

For those who are unaware, My Nintendo replaced Club Nintendo and allows players to redeem their Platinum Points for physical rewards by covering the shipping cost. However, five years ago, the Mario anniversary pin promotion didn’t go smoothly, as the website experienced issues due to heavy traffic and the rewards became available earlier than expected. Because of this, many fans couldn’t get or claim the free pins, which later ended up in the hands of scalpers who sold them for around $100.

Overall, fan reactions to the new pins have been mixed. While several are excited about the new pin set and can’t wait to get it, some believe Nintendo has reused the old Super Mario Galaxy pin from the 35th anniversary collection. Fans are also expecting the collection to sell out quickly. Although the release details are still not known, Nintendo’s past merchandise launches suggest the pin set may be difficult to get.
