Toy Story 5 Hits Another Milestone, Crosses $800 Million At Global Box Office

Earlier we all were speculating that Will It Beat Mario Galaxy Movie and Zootopia 2? But today, Disney and Pixar’s popular animated comedy drama Toy Story 5 has hit another milestone at the box office. After only three weekends in theaters, the animated sequel has surpassed $800 million at the global box office, becoming one of the highest-grossing films of 2026.

Toy Story 5 has earned $381 million in North America and $427.3 million from international markets after three weekends, taking its worldwide total to $808.6 million. If the film continues at this pace, it could easily cross $1 billion and may overtake Super Mario Galaxy 2, and Toy Story 4, which earned $1.07 billion, to become the highest-grossing movie in the franchise.

Currently, the animated movie is the third biggest Hollywood film of the year, with over $808 million at the global box office. It trails The Super Mario Galaxy Movie ($1.009 billion) and Michael ($991 million). Since both movies have already completed their theatrical runs, there is a strong chance of Toy Story 5 overtaking them at the worldwide box office.

Toy Story 5 Hits Another Milestone

Released in mid-June, Toy Story 5 had a record-breaking start, earning $160 million during its opening weekend and setting a new franchise record. It surpassed Toy Story 4, which previously held the record with a $120 million opening weekend. The film set another record by delivering the second biggest opening weekend ever for an animated movie, trailing only Incredibles 2, which made $182.7 million at the box office. Thanks to excellent reviews and strong audience support, it continues to perform well at the box office despite the release of Minions & Monsters.

With a production budget of $250 million, Toy Story 5 has already proved its worth with its strong box office run. Besides its earnings in theaters, the Toy Story brand earns more than $1 billion every year worldwide through merchandise, video games and books.

Directed by Andrew Stanton, Toy Story 5 explores how children today are spending more time with technology than traditional toys. It follows Woody (voiced by Tom Hanks), Jessie (voiced by Joan Cusack), Buzz Lightyear (voiced by Tim Allen) and the gang as they try to help their owner, Bonnie (voiced by Scarlett Spears), who becomes attached to her new smart tablet called Lilypad.
