Recently, the final base roster members for Street Fighter 6 were confirmed to be Zangief, Lily, and Cammy. Zangief possesses an (Overdrive) EX Lariat and an anti-air super in Street Fighter 6, according to brief footage released by Capcom.
This EX Lariat’s existence is particularly intriguing because Zangief has never produced something like it. In Street Fighter 6, might this be Zangief’s EX reversal move?
In the Street Fighter series, Zangief has always been a character that goes to extremes. He is the kind of person who makes adversaries fearful. His whole game revolves around getting close so he can use his unblockable and extremely devastating Spinning Piledriver special move.

Zangief, on the other hand, is huge and slow. It follows that approaching opponents is made more challenging by this. In addition, he frequently struggles with Okizeme (pressure on waking up), which is paradoxical given how strong he is while going on the attack in Okizeme circumstances.
The inclusion of an EX reversal, however, will undoubtedly alter this dynamic. Although Zangief will still be a scary menace up close, the EX reversal will make opponents second-guess their choices if they knock down the Red Cyclone.
Of course, Zangief’s strategy may have undergone a significant shift in light of what we’ve learned from the last two Street Fighter 6 beta testing phases. Specifically, the health of each of the eight beta characters, Ryu, Chun-Li, Guile, Ken, Jamie, Kimberly, Luke, and Juri, equals 10,000.

Every character having an identical amount of health at this time is either a quirk of the beta or a feature that will remain in the finished game. It is currently uncertain.
Zangief would have equivalent life to a character like Cammy if the notion were to make it into the launch. Funnier, though, if Zangief is included as DLC, he might have an identical lifespan to Akuma.
