The story follows two playable characters, Ellie, who seeks retribution for murder, and Abby, a soldier who becomes entangled in a fight between her militia and a religious cult, five years after the events of The Last of Us (2013).

The gameplay is from a third-person perspective, and players must use guns, improvised weapons, and stealth to defeat human foes and cannibalistic zombie-like animals.

After the success of The Last of Us Remastered, development on The Last of Us Part II began in 2014. Returning to his role as creative director, Neil Druckmann also wrote the script with Halley Gross. Growing up in Israel influenced Druckmann to explore ideas of vengeance and retribution.

Ellie is played by Ashley Johnson once again, and Abby by Laura Bailey. In their performances, they both moved and spoke into the microphone at the same time. While making the PlayStation 4, the developers pushed the system to its technical limits. The game music was composed and performed once again by Gustavo Santaolalla. Twelve-hour days were supposedly put in during development.

As a result of postponements, including those caused by the COVID-19 epidemic, the sequel to The Last of Us was finally released on June 19, 2020. The game was well-received by critics, with many praising its gameplay, aural design, score, performances, characters, and visual fidelity, despite some disagreements on the story and its themes.

Some users flooded the Metacritic review section with negative comments about the game, and the conversation surrounding it quickly turned hostile. Over four million copies of Part II were sold on its launch weekend, and over 10 million copies will have been sold by 2022, making it one of the best-selling PlayStation 4 titles and the fastest-selling PlayStation 4 exclusive.

It set a record for the most Game of the Year honors and was honored in a number of other categories by both industry groups and media outlets dedicated to video games.

God Of War Ragnarok

Santa Monica Studio created and SIE (Sony Interactive Entertainment) published God of War: Ragnarök. The first God of War game to span console generations, it came out on November 9, 2022, all over the world on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. It’s the sequel to 2018’s God of War, making it both the ninth game in the franchise and the ninth game in the series chronological progression.

Gameplay centers on Kratos, the series’ main protagonist, and Atreus, his teenage son, in an ancient Scandinavian setting inspired by Norse mythology. Ragnarok, the end of the world in Norse mythology, is the focus of the game, which was prophesied to occur in the previous game after Kratos murdered the great god Baldur.

The mechanics are the same as the 2018 entry it follows. In addition to puzzles and RPG mechanics, it has combat focused on chaining together attacks. The gameplay has been updated from the last game; Kratos now has a magical spear in addition to his main weapons, a magical battle axe, and his double-chained swords, and he may use a variety of shields with varying offensive and defensive capabilities.

It’s possible to take passive control of Atreus, his son, and other characters to help you in battle. Moreover, for the first time in the series, the player assumes complete control of Atreus during specific plot missions; his gameplay is identical to that of Kratos, but he employs his magical bow instead of a sword. More varieties of enemies and smaller bosses have been added since the last game.

The game’s development was impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, and Kratos actor Christopher Judge’s health concerns in August of this year caused a delay that pushed the release date back from 2021 to 2022. It’s no surprise that Ragnarök has been nominated for a slew of awards at The Game Awards 2022, including Game of the Year.

Two of the most visually impressive games on the PS4 are God of War and The Last of Us 2, both of which are packed to the gills with incredible little details that make the games feel more lifelike and immersive. It’s up for debate which video game delivers the better experience overall, but there’s no disputing that The Last of Us 2 wins hands down when it comes to the sheer missable minutiae.

Rare are the AAA games that truly impress with their level of graphic fidelity, and this is true throughout generations. The cinematic experiences created by Naughty Dog, like those created by Rockstar Games, are packed with in-game Easter eggs and hidden secrets that surprise and delight players.

Uncharted 4’s more explorable levels and attention to detail set a new benchmark for the genre. The Last of Us 2 improves upon the already impressive immersion of Uncharted 4.

The visual design in The Last of Us 2 is outstanding. Everything from the way the ice cracks under Shimmer’s feet to the blood that soaked the bandages on Ellie’s arms. Dynamic touches in The Last of Us 2 that are easy to overlook but add to the game’s realism and immersion include blood melting the surface of snow and snow dropping from the tree after brushing Ellie’s shoulders.
The internal team of 350 members responsible for creating The Last of Us 2 compared to the 300 members who worked on God of War could explain the discrepancy in the sheer number of details between the two games.

In addition, there is essentially only one open area to explore in The Last of Us 2, making the game a linear adventure. However, Kratos’ Leviathan Axe and Blade of Chaos are so intricately detailed that even side quests and challenges in God of War frequently require killing foes.

Why Is The Last Of Us 2 Better?

The first game didn’t stand out among other games of its generation, which wasn’t the case with the sequel. The Last of Us Part 2 is remarkable in making things out to be realistic, as character models not only look lifelike but also interact with one another this way.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the best-reviewed games of all time, pulling in a staggering 97 Metascore. The game follows Arthur Morgan and his band of outlaws as they roam the west and contend with a world that’s slowly become more civilized.

Is God Of War Ragnarok Longer Than God Of War?

Is Ragnarok longer than God of War? Yes, Ragnarok is slightly longer running at an average of around 25 hours compared to the original’s 20 hours. That’s excluding side quests and everything else.
