Sackboy: a Big Adventure: Sumo Digital created and Sony Interactive Entertainment published the 2020 platform game Sackboy: A Big Adventure. Gameplay in each level involves a set of moveable objects that must be interacted with in order for Sackboy to advance. Sackboy can use his new abilities across a variety of levels.
LittleBigPlanet 2’s Grappling Hook has been renamed the Clawstring and returns to give Sackboy the ability to grab onto objects from a distance; the Whirltool is a boomerang-like device that can be thrown to defeat enemies and break objects, and the Plasma Pumps give Sackboy the ability to float in the air and fire energy blasts.

The Sack people of Craftworld’s Loom village are living comfortably until the villain Vex (Richard E. Grant) rips through the sky and starts sucking everything up with his machines, forcing the Sack people into servitude so he can use their labor to construct his Topsy-Turver machine and rule Craftworld with his evil Uproar. Sackboy escapes in a rocket after stealing the blueprints to the Topsy-Turver and avoiding enslavement.

In order to stop Vex from completing the Topsy-Turver and taking over the world, he utilizes the plans to go all throughout Craftworld with the help of an elder sack person, Scarlet (Dawn French), correcting numerous problems Vex made and collecting Dreamer Orbs.

Vex ambushes Sackboy later in the trip and steals his Dreamer Orbs, admitting that he tricked Sackboy into collecting them so that he could use them to power the Topsy-Turver. To prevent Vex from replacing the Tree of Imagination with his contraption, Scarlet convinces Sackboy to travel to the heart of Craftworld.
