The legendary shooter from Tom Clancy will continue to receive updates for another year. Ubisoft has announced its upcoming year’s plans, which include new player protection efforts, new operators, and more. Ubisoft’s future plans are outlined below.

Directions for the Next Year

The Brazilian Attacker Brava and other major changes, like as an immersive reload overhaul, will be introduced in Commanding Force, the first season of Year 8. Moreover, Mousetrap, a revolutionary anti-Mouse & Keyboard solution for Console, has been added for Season 1. This will ensure that cheaters with mice and keyboards do not have an unfair edge over those using controllers.

The second season will launch Permanent Arcade Playlist and include new features including a Swedish Operator and a more in-depth redesign of the Consulate map. In addition, a new upgrade to the Shooting Range will introduce different target modes for players to use in preparation for upcoming bouts.

For Season 3, South Korea delivers the Operator, who completely revamps Quick Match (details below). The Portuguese Operator, a new map, and an important new onboarding tool called the Defender AI playlist will all be released before the end of the year. The latter will provide players a new chance to hone their skills as Operators, try out alternative techniques, and master multiple maps.

Safeguarding the Players

After making player safety and anti-cheat measures a top priority in Year 7, the development team will keep doing so in Year 8. The new QB security system will make it more difficult to create cheats, and Mousetrap, a new security mechanism debuting in Season 1, will lessen the impact that Mouse & Keyboard cheaters have on consoles.

The goal of this new addition to the game is to level the playing field by eliminating the edge that cheats now hold. Mousetrap will evolve from season to season, making it the first truly groundbreaking example of this type of functionality in the highly competitive gaming business.

In addition to the Reputation System, which was made available in beta form late last year, the team is also working on a new venture. Using the Player Commendation System, gamers will be able to express their gratitude to one another by giving feedback on the quality of their gaming experience with a specific individual. Every effort will be made to guarantee that this system operates fairly for all participants.

Smurfing and the use of subpar accounts will be discouraged with the introduction of new Ranked play standards. In addition, the creator-protecting Privacy Mode that was introduced for PC users last year will soon be available to console users as well. The goal of the eighth year of development for Rainbow Six Siege is to make the game more accessible, friendly, and secure for players of all ages and skill levels.

In addition to these safeguards, a new Reputation Penalty for toxic voice conversations has been implemented. To prevent hostile and disruptive content in voice chat, this penalty automatically mutes repeat offenders. Voice chat is still available for muted players, but they will only be audible to those who have chosen to unmute them.

Autumn of the Eighth Year

The limited-time Year 8 Pass is available from February 20 to March 20 for $30. It grants access to all four seasonal Battle Passes, early access to new Operators for 14 days after their release, a 10% VIP discount in the shop, a complete Operator bundle for Ace, up to 2,400 R6 Credits, and more.

The Premium Year Pass costs $60 and includes all of these benefits plus twenty additional Battle tokens, which may be used to go through the rewards system more quickly.

Modifications to the Console With a Focus on Player Comfort

In continuation of the Year 7 improvements, more focused updates for console gamers will be released this year. They include Mousetrap and Privacy Mode for consoles, as well as controller layout flexibility and controller remapping.

A substantial change will also be made to Quick Match, making it as unique as Ranked and Unranked. As a result, players will spend less time waiting for a match in Quick Match and more time in the action, experiencing Siege at its peak.

The user interface of the Play section will be updated to include three new tabs for players to explore: Competitive, Rapid Play, and Training. For each of these sections, a tile will be displayed, and below it, a dynamic pattern will appear that links directly to the user’s most recently used playlists within that section.

If a playlist supports multiple game modes, the player can switch between them with a single click of a settings button rather than going through the main menu. In Year 8, developers will continue making adjustments to the game that will make it more enjoyable for players.

Features for Orientation and Training

Each season of Year 8 will place a unique emphasis on onboarding to help ease new players into the rhythm of Rainbow Six Siege. To help novice players get up to speed and unlock new Operators as they play, Season 1 will introduce Introductory Challenges. The Aiming Lane is a new feature in Season 2’s Shooting Range that gives players more options for customizing their experience, mobility, the number of targets, and more advanced tactics like headshots only.

New to Season 3 is Playable tutorials, which are standalone levels designed to teach players the fundamentals of the game through practice. This season’s Defender AI playlist provides a secure environment in which players may instruct one another on the finer points of using new Operators and terrain. A machine learning algorithm will be used to create this playlist based on the preferences of current users.

Modifications to the Balance and Playlist

This year, the development team will keep refining a number of Operators, including Zero, Frost, and others. In Year 8, players can expect a more immersive reload update, a tactical mechanic, an Observation blocker that gives Defenders control over what intel is delivered to Attackers, and a complete revamp of shield Operators.
