Year 8 of Rainbow Six Siege is here, and with it comes Operation Commanding Force and a new Attacker dubbed Brava, whose Kludge drone can hack the Defenders’ technological gear to destroy them or flip their allegiance. Also included in the first season of the new year are beginning tasks to help players learn the basics of Siege, a reworked reload, and an anti-cheat mechanism designed specifically for capturing mouse-and-keyboard players on the console.
Those who purchase the premium tier of the Operation Commanding Force Battle Pass at the start of the season will have access to Brava two weeks later for the cost of Renown or R6 credits. Starting on February 20, players can purchase the Year 8 Pass to receive a discount on all four seasonal battle passes for Year 8, as well as other perks including accelerated tier unlocks and other bonuses.

Modified Operator Load
Brava, a Brazilian native, is a new addition to the Attackers’ Viperstrike squad, Hibana’s high-performance, do-it-all team. She carries the USP40 Pistol and the Super Shorty as her secondary firearms, and the PARA-308 assault rifle and the hard-hitting CAMRS marksman rifle as her primary options. She also has the option of bringing smoke grenades or a claymore, but her own personal device is what makes her stand out.
Take a first-look at some of the new features coming in Year 8, from deep tactical changes and improvements to new operators and gadgets. The future of Siege is here!

Kludge Drone, Inc.
While some drones are designed for reconnaissance and others for damage, Brava’s is built for theft. Kludge drones may remotely hack into enemy electronics and either destroy them (like Thunderbird’s Kona Stations or Bandit’s batteries) or switch their allegiance to the drone’s side.
The repercussions of this alteration can range from the trivial, such as giving the Attackers access to the default camera, to the intricate, such as granting Brava control over (and her teammates access to the camera feed of) Echo’s Yokai drone or Maestro’s Evil Eye turret. The effects of any hack by Brava, no matter how small or complex, are disruptive and even lethal.
The Kludge drone can easily sneak behind the cover or via a drone hole to better evade notice, as it can initiate hacks from a considerable distance and only has to stay in the range of the target until the hack is complete. What’s more, this is useful because the Kludge drone is rather large for a drone, and cautious Defenders will be ready to shoot it down at first sight.
With regards to the sense of sight, both Defenders and Attackers should be aware that the current allegiance of a given electronic device determines whether or not being spotted by a bulletproof camera is cause for alarm, or whether or not you will feel a painful zap while passing through Aruni’s Surya Gates.
Mute is one of the few Defenders who can foil Brava’s tricks; his electronic jammers will stop the Kludge drone in its tracks, provided the drone doesn’t have a line of sight to them. Brava may be in serious danger if Solis were to use her SPEC-IO Electro-Sensor skills to detect not just the Kludge drone, but also Brava’s whereabouts while she pilots it.
Yet, Defenders should recruit Mozzie as a high-caliber counter. With the help of his Pests, the Defenders can hack the Attackers’ electrical devices. In order to give Brava and the Attackers a taste of their own medicine, Nomad’s Airjabs and even the lowly claymore are tempting options.
Downloadable, Free Command, and Control Force Updates
When the new season begins, all players will receive a number of free updates. As you begin the reload animation to remove the magazine from the weapon, you will only be able to fire the single bullet left in the chamber until the animation is finished and a new magazine is inserted. (At present, you can pause the reloading animation and use the remaining ammunition.) This will make reloading a dangerous time for Operators, or a good time to strike if your opponent is in that state.
🧠 In Operation Commanding Force, you'll have to watch your ammo and make tactical reloading decisions.

Zero now has greater leeway in where he places his Argus cameras thanks to a rebalancing change. At present, when deployed, the cameras automatically pierce through a destructible or fortified surface; with the new update, Zero will be able to choose when to activate the piercing operation, giving him greater discretion over when to peer through and potentially notify Defenders on the other side.
Keep in mind that other Attackers will be able to change the perspective of the camera, but only Zero will have control over when it breaks through the defenses.
