Many people are interested in the leaked screenshot of Vice City’s enormous geography from the upcoming GTA 6. Although Rockstar Software has yet to announce the setting of the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto sequel, reputable sources suggest it will occur in Vice City and the neighboring areas of Florida.
An extensive leak last year, which included an early build of the game being made available online, further confirmed this information. Most of the game’s material has been leaked online through media, including uncut gameplay footage.
These clips and screenshots have recently seen renewed interest for several reasons. A screenshot from the game, showing one of the two protagonists with downtown Vice City in the background, has recently resurfaced in the media, revealing the game’s immense breadth.
The Grand Theft Auto 6 subreddit has seen the reappearance of previously leaked screenshots, showing the game’s protagonist traversing an urban setting in what could be Vice City. But on the horizon, you can see the skyscrapers of downtown Vice City, indicating that the game world is enormous.
The Reddit user points out that you would be beyond the city limits if this were the fictional city of Los Santos from Grand Theft Auto 5. It follows that Vice City’s map will likely be extremely large.
This difference in map size between Vice City and Los Santos is not an issue of scale, as Los Angeles is much larger than Miami. Instead, it seems to stem from fundamental resource gaps and ambition gaps.
Even though Los Santos is a larger city than Vice City, Rockstar Software has not released a new version of Los Santos since 2013. Vice City’s layout boasts a far greater size than its predecessor, which is to be expected given the significant technological developments over the past decade.
