Forbidden West: Sony’s first major release of 2022 was Horizon: Forbidden West, which continued the story of protagonist Aloy’s adventures after the events of the first game.

Horizon: Forbidden West’s visual fidelity surprised me not only because of its true landscape beauty and gorgeous art style but also because it was devoted to a PlayStation 4 release and had to run consistently on hardware that is fast approaching a decade old.
Although this was understandable given the limited availability of PS5s, it should be counterbalanced by a PC port that can fully exploit the game’s visual potential.
The game’s inclusion on Steam or the Epic Store would benefit both players and the developer, though this has not been confirmed.
Horizon Zero Dawn was a PC Success
Before Sony revealed Horizon Zero Dawn at E3 2015, Guerrilla was best known for making the Killzone games, which were a part of a famous IP that felt exhausted when Killzone: Shadow Fall came out in tandem with the PlayStation 4.
Guerrilla Games’ Horizon was a vast departure from its usual fare. Still, the game’s success proved that the studio is a titan in the gaming industry, and it would have been a shame if it had limited itself to first-person shooters.
Horizon Zero Dawn is a technical and artistic masterpiece, and its sequel, Horizon Forbidden West, due out in 2022, features some exciting improvements.
Horizon Zero Dawn may have debuted on the PlayStation 4 in the first half of 2017, but the game received a new lease on life when it finally made its way to PC in August 2020.

Horizon Forbidden West Can’t Catch a Break
Elden Ring, the long-awaited new game from developer FromSoftware, completely eclipsed Horizon: Forbidden West upon its release, despite Horizon’s high quality and good sales.
Although Guerrilla’s product is more approachable to casual audiences and had the luxury of being a sequel to a much-loved game, Elden Ring captured the hearts of millions with a format that many deemed revolutionary, and both games are open-world action games played from a third-person perspective.
Horizon: Forbidden West was doomed from the start, and its 2017 release was a carbon copy of its forerunner’s bad luck, as both were eclipsed by the magnificence of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Therefore, Guerrilla’s showing at the 2022 Game Awards was underwhelming. Despite being nominated for several awards—including the most prestigious one, Game of the Year—it ended up winning none of them.
The latter’s departure for Elden Ring was the most glaring indicator yet that Horizon Forbidden West needs to find a new way to stand out.
To avoid being overshadowed for a third time, bringing Horizon Forbidden West to PC as soon as possible is probably your best bet if you want to achieve this goal, especially considering that 2023 will have no shortage of memorable AAA experiences. Horizon: Forbidden West is out now for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
