A new version of “Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth” is coming soon. Fans can look forward to playing this updated version of the old 1997 RPG by Square Enix.
After escaping the crowded and controlling city of Midgar in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Cloud and his friends are now heading to more peaceful places. They want to protect the planet from environmental problems and stop the bad guy, Sephiroth. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is the next part of their adventure.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth looks really nice and has modern graphics. It keeps using a mix of real-time action and other stuff for fighting, which is different from the old game.
But it still feels like the old game. They’ve also changed Cloud’s story, so we’re curious to see where it goes. People think it might be one of the best RPGs of 2024. Keep reading to find out more about the game, like trailers.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Release Date
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is coming out on the PS5 at the beginning of 2024 and it will require two discs. At first, Square Enix planned to release it in 2023, but they changed their minds and decided to release it a bit later. They didn’t say why, but maybe they did it so that another game called Final Fantasy XVI could get more attention.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Platforms
Right now, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be on PlayStation 5. Before, they first put Final Fantasy VII Remake on PlayStation 4 and didn’t let it be on other game systems for a year. The game before it came out on PC in 2021, so it might happen the same way with Rebirth, where it comes out on PC after it’s been on PS5 for a while.
Final Fantasy 7 Pre-Order
You can now order the game in advance from Best Buys, Amazon, and Target. GameStop and the PlayStation store also have information about the game, but you can’t order it from there just yet.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Gameplay
Right now, there’s just one trailer that shows how the game “Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth” will be played. It helps us understand what the new version of the game will be like. In the video, we can see parts of the story, like Zack helping Cloud before the main events of the game, and Cloud and Sephiroth in a scene from the past in Nibelheim.
In the new version of the game, you can now play Red XIII and Yuffie. The special team moves from Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intermission are back, and you can use them with different characters in your party. Plus, you can explore the open world. Check it out below!
The Final Fantasy 7 Twitter account shared some exciting news about the game. They said that you can work together with your party members in new ways. This might mean they’re adding more cool team attacks like the ones we saw in the Intermission DLC for the PS5.
In the Remake and the Intermission DLC, there are fun activities like breaking boxes and playing mini-games at Fort Condor. It’s possible we might also get to do things like breeding and racing chocobos in the upcoming Rebirth expansion.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Trailer
A new trailer was shown at a big gaming event called E3 2023’s Summer Game Fest. The video was more than three minutes long and was really exciting. It gave us a sneak peek into the next part of the game’s story and also showed us some interesting parts of the game world outside of a place called Midgar.
The trailer showed that in the new game “Rebirth,” you can play as the cool dog, Red XIII. It also had a fancy scene from Tifa’s past that fans of “Final Fantasy 7 Crisis Core” will recognize.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Story
When it comes to the story of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, we don’t have a lot of information. If it was just a straightforward remake, we would have a better idea of what’s going to happen in the story.
However, Final Fantasy 7 Remake did follow the original story in many ways, but there were some important changes that could make the plot go in a different direction.
Regardless, in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, we’ll be leaving the big, chaotic city of Midgar and traveling through beautiful forests and eerie wastelands.
In the game Final Fantasy 7 Remake, there are these spooky creatures called The Whispers. They really want to make sure everything in the game happens just like it did in the original version of Final Fantasy 7.
But in a blog post, one of the game’s directors, Motomu Toriyama, said that these ghostly troublemakers won’t be successful in keeping everything the same this time.
“As it says at the end of the game ‘The Unknown Journey Will Continue’, and Cloud and his friends will be on that journey for a while yet,” says co-director Motomu Toriyama in the last part of Square Enix’s FF7 Remake blog series. “From here on in the Whispers cannot act to maintain the destined timeline, so fans can look forward to seeing what kind of future awaits the team.”
When Final Fantasy 7 Remake had the Whispers defeated, it was a smart choice by Toriyama for the story. We know that in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, some new characters will be joining Cloud’s team. We’ve already seen Yuffie and the cool dog Red XIII in a trailer, but there might be more surprises coming.
This is especially interesting because Zack is back in the story. Endo said that Cloud and his friends will work together even more closely than before, but we don’t know exactly what that will look like in the game.
