Destiny 2 Players Warned About Moon Titans Return

On May 22, a brand-new season of Destiny 2 will launch, and Bungie has already confirmed that one of the previously sunsetted locales will be a part of it. Despite all the hoopla, the community has urged players to lower their expectations in light of Bungie’s past performance in this area.

Even though Bungie is no longer intentionally sunsetting content from Destiny 2, they haven’t been as eager to allow players to completely return areas that are no longer playable. Instead of allowing players to roam in fully-fledged patrol zones as long-time players may recall them, formerly sunset areas frequently make a limited comeback.

Although many Destiny 2 players are anticipating the return of Titan’s moon, Reddit user JLoco11PSN said that it may be wise to hold off until after seeing how the location is handled. According to JLoco11PSN, Bungie has only ever previously released significantly trimmed-down versions of patrol zones and levels that had been retired.

One notable instance is the Leviathan ship’s return from the previous year, which hosted a variety of activities but was ultimately removed from the game with the release of Lightfall because it was temporary seasonal content. Titan may experience a similar situation, as JLoco11PSN has cautioned.

Reddit user JLoco11PSN has posted:

The community needs to temper expectations about Titan returning to the game

The community has determined that Bungie revealing that the Season of the Deep includes a Titan dungeon in addition to the regular selection of transient seasonal content is the best-case scenario for content longevity.

The Titan arcology would continue to exist indefinitely and be playable by players, even if only in a limited capacity, through something akin to Spire of the Watcher from Destiny 2.

Season of Deep’s underwater location in Destiny 2 has been alluded to by Bungie, and it may turn out that this is an endgame Dungeon. However, there is presently no way to find out because, despite the developer disclosing more details about Season 21 than usual, the majority of its content is still cloaked in secrecy.

For Destiny enthusiasts, Season of the Deep is sure to be an exciting period, albeit not everything about it is exactly a net plus. For instance, it’s possible that borderline pay-to-win capabilities could soon be added to Destiny 2, and it’s unclear how Bungie’s recent changes to the gameplay loop will affect the game’s meta-progression systems.
