A rumor regarding the release date of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, the eagerly awaited expansion that will undoubtedly be showcased during the Summer Game Fest in June, has been circulating over the past few days.
This rumor is based on a Polish podcast where the hosts hint that the DLC would be released in the same month. Although it’s not impossible, a launch in June would indicate that CD Projekt Red is counting on a brief marketing effort.
Since Final Fantasy XVI, another popular role-playing game, is slated to release in late June, we have never been entirely convinced by the concept.
The business, though, hasn’t denied this specific rumor. Community director Marcin Momot highlights the problem on Twitter and doesn’t confirm or deny the words, just saying:
“As previously mentioned in our official communication, we’re going to start revealing details about Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty in June. As for the launch date, we don’t comment on rumours”

We’re unsure how to read this; perhaps everyone is just reading too much into it from the start. We won’t have to wait long for official confirmation of this because it’s highly probable that Phantom Liberty will be announced at the Summer mentioned above Game Fest event.
