    After a more than 40-day hiatus, Fortnite developer Epic Games has returned with a major new update for Battle Royale, LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival.

    Fortnite update 28.10 is set to be released on January 23 for the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Android, and Nintendo Switch. As a big update, the new download will be followed by a period of server downtime, beginning at 9 a.m. GMT UK time. Downtime is estimated to last approximately two hours.

    “Nothing to see here…” states an official Fortnite tweet. “Downtime will start at 4:00 AM ET, with matchmaking being disabled shortly beforehand.”

    According to the tweet, Solid Snake will finally make his Chapter 5 Season 1 debut in the Fortnite Battle Pass.

    A range of Metal Gear Solid-themed products, as well as the Solid Snake special skin, will be available to unlock. There are even reports that a Gray Fox skin may be added to the item shop.

    Needless to say, fans can expect some goods to exit the vault, as well as new Augments, the release of the February Crew Pack, and the normal round of bug patches and balance tweaks.
