Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2: Did Netflix Korea Accidentally Leak The Release Date?

Short version: pretty much, yeah. This week Netflix Korea’s page for the new Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 trailer briefly showed a hard premiere date, October 20, 2026, before someone quietly changed it back to the fuzzy “Fall 2026” everyone else was sticking to. Fans screenshotted it before the edit went through, and now the date’s everywhere. The one thing it isn’t is official: Netflix worldwide, CD Projekt Red, and the show’s own site all still say nothing more specific than “Fall 2026.”

So October 20 is a strong leak, not a locked date. It’s exactly the kind of regional-listing slip that tends to be real, but until Netflix actually says it, it’s not confirmed, and that gap matters.

What Netflix Korea actually showed

When the second teaser went up across Netflix’s regional channels, most of them held the line on “Fall 2026.” The Korean page didn’t. Its trailer description had October 20, 2026 written right there, way more specific than anything the company had said on purpose. Whoever caught it moved quick and rolled it back to a generic “this fall”, but that was already too late, the screenshots were making the rounds on Reddit’s Cyberpunk community and X within the hour.

A handful of outlets have already jumped on it, and they’re all reading it the same way: an accidental reveal from one corner of Netflix, not some planned drop. That’s the bit worth holding onto. One country’s storefront flashing a date isn’t Netflix dating the show.

What’s officially confirmed

Take the leak out of it and here’s what’s actually nailed down. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 hits Netflix in Fall 2026, exclusively. It’s a standalone 10-episode story rather than a pick-up of David Martinez’s arc, with CD Projekt Red and Studio TRIGGER both back and Bartosz Sztybor returning as showrunner. Sztybor’s line on it is that this one goes darker, rawer, and bloodier, not gentler.

And that’s the whole official story on timing right now, a season, a window, a platform. No day, no month.

How likely is October 20?

Honestly? Pretty likely, and it fits cleanly. “Fall 2026” in practice means somewhere between mid-September and early December, so an October 20 date sits right in the fat middle of that range and doesn’t step on anything Netflix has said. Regional pages also usually pull from the same internal schedule the official announcement will, which is why a date leaking early in one territory is worth taking seriously instead of waving off.

But the other side is just as true. Dates in these descriptions can be placeholders, and they can shift before launch. Until Netflix or CD Projekt Red says a day out loud, October 20 lives in the “very believable, still unofficial” pile.

The new crew, briefly

If you’re just tuning in: David’s dead, and Edgerunners 2 spins up a whole new story with a new cast loose in Night City. The leads confirmed so far are Weak Kingsley, a washed-up veteran Edgerunner stuck in the shadow of who he used to be and now scraping by without any chrome; D, a netrunner whose intro tagline is “No signal, no survival”; Roman Carax, a young cinephile; and Talia Yang, who’s wrapped up with the Maelstrom gang. CD Projekt Red’s framed the season around family, obsession, legacy, and revenge, and with how hard the first season landed back in 2022, the bar going in is high.

Did Netflix Korea leak the date? Sure looks like it, October 20, 2026 turned up in an official regional listing before getting yanked. But a slip and a confirmation aren’t the same thing. On paper, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is still just a Fall 2026 title on Netflix, and October 20 stays a well-sourced rumor until the company writes it down itself.
