MultiVersus is back with three new characters. The game developers, Player First Games, have also made many balance changes and improved some of the weaker fighters. This has significantly changed the rankings of the characters compared to last year when the game went offline.
In this guide, you’ll find detailed information about each character, their rank, and the reasons for their ranking. It explains why some characters have better moves and are stronger, while others are not as strong as the rest of the roster.
Multiversus Community Compiles List of Potential Fighters
We’re not sure which makes Nakat’s opinion more important: that he was part of the team that won MultiVersus at Evo in 2022, or that he’s on the game’s development team and knows all its secrets.
Either way, Nakat is probably the best person right now to share his tier list for the newly re-released MultiVersus. He has made a video with two lists: one for singles and one for duos.

The game’s 26 characters are ranked in five tiers: Super Good, Really Good, Good, Hmmmm, and Assistance!
Wonder Woman is the top character whether you play alone or with a friend. Nakat calls her “godlike” because of her strong combos, good defense (her armor is important), and quick recovery times.
However, Nakat mentions that Wonder Woman isn’t the clear number one, as two other characters are also in the running for the top spot. You’ll need to watch his video to see who they are, as his lists rank characters vertically but not horizontally.
At the very bottom of both lists is Velma, in her own “Assistance!” tier. Once one of the best characters, developers have weakened her significantly. Nakat says he didn’t give any input on Velma’s changes at the office.

Best MultiVersus Characters for Beginners
It’s important to remember that you can start with any character you like if you’re dedicated. However, we’ve chosen characters that will help you learn the game faster. If you keep losing, you might get discouraged. So, let’s get started.
Jake the Dog
Jake the Dog is a Bruiser, which means he uses pure force. His strength comes from his ability to shapeshift and his long reach. He can change his body into weird shapes, making him unpredictable.
His reach is tricky, kind of like Dhalsim from Street Fighter. The only problem is that he is lighter than some other fighters, so he can be knocked off more easily. But this just means you need to hit your enemies harder and faster than they can hit you.
Harley Quinn
Harley Quinn is an Assassin class character. This means she is light but very fast, with excellent combos and mixup moves.
You should jump into fights quickly, throw your enemies into the air, and keep hitting them so they can’t fight back. She moves well in the air and is powerful when knocking enemies down.
Wonder Woman
Finally, we have Wonder Woman, who is another Tank character. Like Superman, she is great at both defense and offense, and she can fight well both up close and from a distance.
She also has a strong whip attack that lets her pull in enemies who try to run away, so she can keep attacking them. If you master Wonder Woman, you’ll master the battlefield and the game.
