Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown
Because Prince of Persia used to be in 3D, going back to its 2D roots feels like a breath of fresh air for the story. Adding Metroidvania features to The Lost Crown’s design was a smart move.
The combat is great, and the world is beautifully made, making the whole thing work together. The Lost Crown isn’t just an exciting metroidvania; it’s also a well-polished example of the genre that other games will look to for ideas in the years to come.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth
The Like a Dragon series is one of the best when it comes to crazy action, strange situations, and stories that will break your heart. The newest game in the main series builds on the RPG gameplay introduced in the previous game, making it even better and more fun.
There are some lulls in the main story, but this final game for the famous Dragon of Dojima has a lot of great side content, such as fights on Dondoko Island and with Sujimon, and so much more.
Tekken 8
Since there were new Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat games in 2023, it was about time that Tekken came back. This year’s Tekken 8 is one of the best games in the series, even though it came out a bit late in the fight game trend.
Tekken 8 moves the series forward with satisfying and aggressive gameplay. It comes with a great cast right out of the gate and graphics that let you see every muscle before a haymaker hits its target.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth is a huge success as a follow-up. Cloud and his friends are back in a bigger and stronger way, continuing to fight fate.
Even though the game makes a few mistakes, they don’t take away from the new chapter’s beautiful graphics, well-tuned gameplay, or exciting departures from the series’ established storyline.
