Civilization 6 has launched a free update across all platforms to commemorate a significant anniversary, and most players are pleased to learn that there are some features and adjustments worth examining.
This marks the 32nd anniversary of Sid Meier’s Civilization series, which will not be forgotten. To get “Civtember” off to a good start, a promotional film was released on the last day of August to promote the release of a free update available to gamers across all platforms.
Civ 6 Update
This update offered far more than most gamers anticipated. The first wave of the Leader Pass for Civilization 6 was launched in November 2022 as a new type of DLC that was only available on PC. Many players were disappointed to learn that the additional content would not be available on consoles.

Thankfully, the free August 2023 update has finally remedied this, and players may now experience the 12 new leaders as well as six distinct variations of several fan-favourite leaders.
Although the announcement of the Leader Pass was the highlight for many gamers, there was much more to the update. Civilization 6 fans will be pleased to learn that extra achievements have been introduced.
Gamers can now earn achievements for defeating each leader added to the game with the Leader Pass DLC. In addition, various tweaks have been made to balance some leadership skills.
Gamers will notice that the Veni, Vidi, Vici ability of Julius Caesar, Wu Zetian’s Manual of Entrapment ability, Varangian Harald Hadrada’s Varangian Guard ability, and Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation ability have all been changed.
Because only Leader Pass leaders’ skills have had their powers balanced, gamers who are curious to try them out can do so right away.

Console users who have already purchased every DLC pack for Civilization 6 can get the Leader Pass for free. Gamers will be able to play with a plethora of new civilizations as well as new personas for characters they are already familiar with, but if that isn’t enough, console players will also be able to unlock Julius Caesar as a leader for free.
Fans who want to take advantage of this offer must connect their platform to their 2K account. This is available to all Civilization 6 owners across all platforms, however, it will only be available until November 24, 2024.
