A report from Dexerto claims that GTA 6, presently being developed by Rockstar Games, is on track to be the most costly game ever made, with a budget of “$1-2 billion USD.”
The most expensive games currently available and under development are Cyberpunk 2077, which cost $174 million to produce, and Star Citizen, which has raised over $500 million.
Grand Theft Auto V cost roughly 137.5 million USD to create, with overall costs exceeding $200 million, while no official statistics have been released.
With a budget several times larger than previous games, reports indicate that GTA 6 is expected to dwarf the GTA 5 map, and leaks have confirmed that Vice City will again be one of the places.
