Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores DLC Announced: The official release of DLC for Horizon Forbidden West was announced by the game’s creator, Guerrilla Games, in a teaser at The Game Awards.
However, only PlayStation 5 will receive it. The Burning Shores DLC will transport Aloy to Los Angeles on April 19, 2023, where the Hollywood sign will be on display (and immediately destroyed by a giant robot).
Guerrilla stated in a blog post on the PlayStation website that “to fulfill this broad vision technically and creatively, we’ve made the difficult decision to focus all our efforts on creating an extraordinary experience solely for the PlayStation®5 console.”
In that post, it was claimed that the LA region had turned into a volcanic archipelago and that the DLC had Aloy on the hunt for a “sinister menace.” She will be visiting a perilous new area south of the Tenakth Clan Lands, which will include new characters, experiences, and more along with a riveting plot that picks off where Horizon Forbidden West left off.
The long-awaited Horizon: Zero Dawn sequel, Forbidden West, saw the return of Alloy as she journeyed through, well, the forbidden west, which included run-down replicas of places like Las Vegas and San Francisco.
The Frozen Wilds DLC for Zero Dawn was released in November 2017, and the sequel, due out in February 2022, will follow suit by receiving a significant expansion.

Forbidden West has already received a ton of early patches to address a variety of technical problems and quality-of-life features, along with a New Game Plus mode later in the year, but this will be the first substantial DLC package to be added since the game’s initial release.
