Little Witch in the Woods Finally Gets a Switch Release Date in September 2026

After years of waiting, Little Witch in the Woods has a Nintendo Switch release date. The cozy witch sim hits the eShop on September 16, 2026 — roughly seven years after it was first announced for the console.

SUNNY SIDE UP originally revealed a Switch version back in 2019. The game took the long way round: it spent years in Early Access before its full PC launch in September 2025, and now, almost a year later, the Switch port is finally ready.

If you’ve never played it, here’s the gist. You’re Ellie, an apprentice witch sent to the land of Lucerein Ortu with your talking hat, Virgil. You explore a mysterious forest, gather ingredients, brew potions, help the villagers, and slowly work toward becoming a full witch — fishing, decorating your house and befriending cats along the way. It’s a warm, low-stress adventure in the Stardew Valley mold.

It’s not just a straight port, either. The Switch version includes all the latest content and improvements from the PC release, so the big August “First Page Anew” update — the one that rebuilt the opening, rebalanced brewing and inventory, and added a new save system — is baked in from day one.

Little Witch in the Woods will cost $19.99 on the eShop when it launches September 16, 2026 The game has already sold more than 500,000 copies elsewhere.

It’s a busy stretch for release dates at the indie end of the calendar, too. Order of the Sinking Star recently locked in an October 8 launch for PS5, Switch 2 and PC, while Super Glitch Dash is dashing onto Steam on September 9.
