Blacksmithing is one of the most useful and profitable professions in WoW Classic. As a blacksmith, you can craft various weapons, armor, and other items that are in high demand by warriors, paladins, and other classes. You can also create special items that are required for quests, reputation, or raiding.

However, leveling blacksmithing can be a daunting and expensive task, as it requires a lot of ores, bars, and other materials. You will need to either farm these materials yourself or buy them from the auction house, which can cost a lot of gold.

Blacksmithing Trainers and Recipes

To learn blacksmithing, you will need to visit a blacksmithing trainer and pay a small fee. There are different trainers for each skill level: apprentice, journeyman, expert, and artisan. You will also need to buy or find various recipes to learn new items to craft.

You can find blacksmithing trainers in most major cities and some towns. Here is a list of the trainers for each faction and skill level:

Horde Trainers

  • Apprentice (1-75): Ug’thok in Orgrimmar, Basil Frye in Undercity, Thrag Stonehoof in Thunder Bluff, Dwukk in Durotar
  • Journeyman (75-150): Same as apprentice trainers
  • Expert (150-225): Saru Steelfury in Orgrimmar, Brikk Keencraft in Booty Bay
  • Artisan (225-300): Krathok Moltenfist in Orgrimmar, Brikk Keencraft in Booty Bay

Alliance Trainers

  • Apprentice (1-75): Groum Stonebeard in Ironforge, Dane Lindgren in Stormwind City, Delfrum Flintbeard in Darkshore, Smith Argus in Elwynn Forest, Tognus Flintfire in Dun Morogh
  • Journeyman (75-150): Same as apprentice trainers
  • Expert (150-225): Bengus Deepforge in Ironforge, Brikk Keencraft in Booty Bay
  • Artisan (225-300): Bengus Deepforge in Ironforge, Brikk Keencraft in Booty Bay

You can buy most of the basic recipes from the trainers or from blacksmithing supply vendors. However, some recipes are only available from specific vendors, quests, drops, or factions.

Blacksmithing Materials

To level blacksmithing, you will need a lot of ores and bars, as well as some stones, clothes, gems, and other materials. You can either mine these materials yourself or buy them from the auction house or other players.

If you want to mine the ores yourself, you will need to level up your mining skills as well.

Here is a list of the minimum materials you will need to level blacksmithing from 1 to 300. However, depending on your luck and the availability of recipes, you may need more or less of some materials.

  • 150x Rough Stone
  • 150x Copper Bar

Blacksmithing Specialization

Once you reach 200 skills in blacksmithing, you can choose to specialize in either armorsmithing or weaponsmithing. These specializations will allow you to craft more powerful and unique items that are exclusive to your chosen path.

To become an armorsmith, you will need to complete a series of quests that will require you to craft various items and prove your skills. You can start the quest chain from either Grumnus Steelshaper in Ironforge or Okothos Ironrager in Orgrimmar.

To become a weaponsmith, you will need to complete a similar quest chain that starts from either Ironus Coldsteel in Ironforge or Borgosh Corebender in Orgrimmar. Once you become a weaponsmith, you can further specialize in axesmithing, hammersmithing, or swordsmithing by completing another quest from the respective trainers.

You can only choose one specialization, and you cannot change it later. Therefore, you should carefully consider which one suits your character and playstyle the best.

Conclusion

We hope this guide has helped you to level your blacksmithing skill from 1 to 300 in WoW Classic. Blacksmithing is a rewarding and fun profession that can enhance your character’s performance and make you some gold. However, it is also a costly and time-consuming profession, so you should plan and use the best resources available.
