Redfall may not come with a game disc in some retail releases, according to a new post on Bethesda’s support site. Instead, Xbox Play Anywhere tickets” playable on Xbox Series X|S and/or PC may be included.
One of several upcoming games on Game Pass is Redfall, which will be released for Xbox Series X|S and PC on May 2nd. Yet, the fact that retail copies of Arkane’s game may not even include a disc may anger some customers who like to own physical copies of their games.

There is now a query about this issue on the Bethesda support site. The question it poses What codes do the physical versions of Redfall arrive with? and the language of the answer is both intriguing and concerning. Redfall PC retail copies include a Steam activation key.
Redfall may be played on the Xbox Series X|S and the Microsoft Xbox App on PC thanks to the Xbox Play Anywhere codes included in the retail Xbox discs.
There’s no reason to think Microsoft would bundle a code and a CD together; if they were handing out two copies per transaction, you’d think it would be a big deal by now. In its place, it appears that retail packaging will simply feature a download code for Arkane’s vampire-hunting shooter, given the language surrounding the Xbox version is nearly identical to the PC edition.
