A leaked image of the Suicide Squad verified the inclusion of a battle pass and other service game features. The idea, posted on the 4chan forum and confirmed by a VGC source, is believed to be taken from a recent test build of the Rocksteady co-op game, revealing several menus designed for the game.
The image’s depiction of a battle pass and several currencies has sparked discussion on social media regarding the potential depth of the game’s live service components. While a battle pass is in the works for the game, a source close to production told VGC that it would primarily be for cosmetic things like skins.
Further, the numerous currencies visible at the top of the leaked image are assumed to be XP used to enhance and personalize the antiheroes’ skill trees, thereby rendering them truly playable only by the player. VGC was instructed, “You don’t start debuffed and weak.” “You just get off to a fantastic beginning and can get outrageous, like Batman in Arkham Knight.”
Execute the Suicide Squad Developed by the same team behind the Batman: Arkham games, The Justice League is described as a “genre-bending action-adventure shooter” set in an open-world version of Metropolis.
Its unique tale follows Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark as they embark on a mission to preserve Earth and destroy the world’s greatest DC Super Heroes, The Justice League. The game may be played solo or with up to four players in online co-op.
The release date for Suicide Squad was finally set last month after several postponements. To be released on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5 on May 26, 2023.
Fans Express Concern Over Online Features in Leaked Suicide Squad Game
Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has high expectations from its audience. Fans have been waiting nearly eight years for a good DC superhero game, especially one that is entertaining and doesn’t get bogged down in nonsense since Arkham Knight concluded Rocksteady’s Batman trilogy and its sister studio Warner Bros.
Montreal’s extremely lackluster Gotham Knights. But a recent leak inspires those concerns with a screenshot that appears to be taken in the middle of a bustling matchmaking queue for Call of Duty: Warzone. Tuesday saw the breach spread throughout Twitter after it had been posted on 4chan and Reddit.

On what seems like the main menu of Suicide Squad, we can see Captain Boomerang, Harley Quinn, King Shark, and Deadshot chatting together. Matchmaking, difficulty, and chapter selection are all accessible options. However, along the top of the screen, you will notice advertisements for a shop, character skins, and a battle pass.
Below each character are two digits, and there appear to be at least six different currencies. The screenshot is genuine and was taken from a recent test build, according to VGC. However, it claims a developer-related source confirmed that the battle pass is simply for cosmetics and that the currencies above are used exclusively for skill tree advancement.
Still, it begs the question of how live service grind, and income will be divided up in the future multi-player action game. Or, like Gotham Knights and other recent attempts at co-op loot shooters, will it be a numbers-driven drag for those who want to play dress-up with King Shark, turning Suicide Squad into a chore?
Requests for comment sent to Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment went unanswered for the time being. It takes place in the same universe as the Arkham games and can be played solo, but a recent gameplay preview makes it feel like a squad-driven affair first and foremost.
We still don’t have a decent concept of the game’s structure, but we know it involves ex-inmates of Arkham Asylum against a Brainiac-hypnotized Justice League. It’s unclear how much of its universe will be accessible or if it will function like a standard single-player campaign where players advance through the tale by completing tasks and gaining experience.

But I have seen enough of today’s mission choose displays to physically shudder at the one shown in the Suicide Squad leak. In some ways, last fall’s Gotham Knights and reveals like Anthem and Marvel’s Avengers and Outriders feel like déjà vu.
It turns out that simulating a live service experience in a game can be accomplished without creating a live service game. If there are numbers, that typically means you have to make them go up, and if you have to make them go up, that usually means you have to grind. If you have to grind, before you know it, you’re too busy navigating a maze of submenus to enjoy the game.
I’m crossing my fingers that Suicide Squad is different. The game’s release has been anticipated since it was first announced in August 2020. The initial release date of 2022 was moved back, and now the official release date is May 26. In the following months, we will undoubtedly receive additional information.
