Splatfest Showdown: Splatoon 3 Bug Transforms Octolings Into Inklings In Victory Parade

Splatoon 3 Bug: In Splatoon 3, a strange bug has surfaced that transforms winning Octolings into Inklings during the 100x and 333x Splatfest parade float celebration. Many people anxiously anticipated the new feature, however, it doesn’t appear like it’s functioning as intended.

Players may find themselves in 100x or 333x bouts, which, as the names suggest, provide the winners a significantly higher boost than finishing a regular match, even before the Spicy against Sweet versus Sour Splatfest.

In contrast, 100x match victors in Splatoon 2 will discover a picture of themselves and their teammates celebrating in the center of the square. Players will be able to board their team’s float, complete with the team’s idol, and take pictures.

This feature was missing in Splatoon 3, and the developer just revealed that it would be included. Except for one peculiarity, the new functionality is mostly functioning as intended. Octoling gamers are finding that their avatars have changed into Inklings during the float process.

Since the converted Octolings continue to wear their typical hairstyles, which are typically unavailable to Inklings, it is not a complete conversion.

The line between the eye masks, which is a telltale sign that they are no longer normal Octolings because normal Octolings do not have this line, as well as other small alterations, make it clear that their faces have changed.

This issue has been brought up by several Splatoon 3 players on social media, and the community is perplexed as to how it could have gone unnoticed—especially given that the game has longer gaps between Splatfest events than usual.

Previously, a bug allowed players to make their Octoling or Inkling have the opposite species’ hair forcibly, albeit only in shops and after performing a set of actions. It is unknown how this occurred during the event, but developer error is most likely to blame.

Splatoon 3 has received a lot of positive press since its release and has done incredibly well financially for Nintendo, but that doesn’t mean it’s perfect. The continuation and, in some players’ opinions, worsening of the connection problems from the previous games has frustrated players.

The first Splatfest held after the game’s debut contained a bug that allowed users to earn Conch Shells without initially joining a team, so Splatfests haven’t been immune either.

Many people were understandably disappointed since players who joined after earning at least one Conch Shell would not have their shells count towards their team’s score.

The problem was later resolved, but since the current Splatfest is still going on, it’s unlikely that this new issue will be resolved until the following Splatfest.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will Splatoon 3 have Splatfests?

In Splatoon 3, Splatfests are unique, one-time events where players can support one of three causes. You'll represent your team in Splatfest Battles after making your decision, where the objective is to ink as much of the stage as you can without getting splattered too frequently.

Does Splatoon 3 have genders?

You have two options for Inkling or Octoling in the new game, with appearances ranging from masculine to feminine.

What is the difference between Splatoon 2 and 3?

Salmon Run in Splatoon 3 will always be playable, which is the largest change from Splatoon 2. To provide players with more gameplay possibilities, this adjustment from Splatoon 2 is much-needed.
