The latest PlayStation 5 beta update will make it simpler to hear what’s going on in the game. Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has released a software update that will make DualSense and DualSense Edge wireless controllers emit louder audio, allowing you to hear in-game sounds and audio chats more clearly.
The upgrade not only allows controllers to create louder sounds but also improves the noise cancellation capability. According to Sony’s release, the controllers now have improved microphone input thanks to a new AI machine-learning algorithm.
It will enable the PS5 system to suppress background noises, such as game audio, allowing your voice to be heard clearly and increasing overall voice chat quality.
The update also includes non-sound-related changes for the PS5, such as the ability to alter the console’s power indication under “Beep and Light” under System Settings. It also grants you access to Share Screen features, which you can use as a spectator to engage with the host’s gameplay.
Want to draw the host’s attention and make them notice a specific element in the game? You can use a pointer to travel around the screen, draw a line, and highlight things in the game. You will also be able to provide the host’s screen emoji reactions. These new interactive tools for the Share Screen are activated by default, but you may always disable them in settings.
Be aware that these will only work if both you and the host have access to the beta features. The updates are now only available to a limited number of users in specific areas, but SIE intends to make them available to all PS5 gamers worldwide in the coming months.
