Sons of the Forest has received a fresh update. It comes as a bit of a surprise that Sons of the Forest is one of the most popular games of 2023.
It’s impossible to say that anyone envisaged it being a game that might crash Steam or completely crush the Steam charts, even if no one expected it to be a small game by any means.
The Forest was a well-respected survival game, but it was still competing for people in a very saturated category.
Sons of the Forest, however, was able to innovate in a variety of ways by developing a much less clumsy game that builds on the framework of its predecessor and even outright eliminates some of the survival game genre’s most boring traits.
Having said that, Sons of the Forest isn’t flawless. To make sure it can enhance the experience that players are having with the game, the Endnight Games team has been working arduously.
Sons of the Forest received a little new update from Endnight Games on March 1st that fixes a few petty problems with the game. The game’s patch notes are included below.
- Fix for hotkeys flask removing flask when used.
- Arms and Legs will now be equipped instead of eaten when hotkeys
- Fix for hotkey button label not fitting in inventory view for some buttons
- Fixed hotkey icon showing the first hotkey for all unassigned items
- Fixed Helldoor collider not blocking certain interactions
It’s also important to keep in mind that Sons of the Forest is still in early access, which means it probably contains a lot of bugs that will need to be fixed over time.
Although we don’t know much about Sons of Forest’s long-term plans, early access suggests that it will receive significant updates in the future that will significantly build upon the game’s fundamental design.
