The official announcement of Grand Theft Auto 6 is still a ways off, but in the meanwhile, a prominent Rockstar Games insider has revealed some huge news concerning the game’s Online feature.
GTA 6 is already one of the most anticipated games ever, and while Rockstar has said the game is in development, they’ve yet to unveil it officially.
In the last year, several hacks led to the release of various videos of the game that were still being developed. These videos revealed a return to Vice City and different gameplay elements that caused the community to enter a frenzy.
Tez2, who knows much about Rockstar and can be trusted, has given out crucial information about GTA 6 and its online mode.
GTA 6 and GTA Online 2 info leaked
According to Tez2, the leaked clip featured some text indicating that GTA Online 2 lobbies will have 30 players.
“The leaked footage showed testing clips of the multiplayer with the max players displayed. Plus, we know from Spider-Vice findings that the game will use similar services to Red Dead Online,” he said.
The insider referenced unreleased videos and described how the lobby areas would operate.
“Where it says ‘PL: 2/32,’ 2 players within a 32 lobby. It’s a 30-player lobby with two slots for spectators, the same as GTAO & RDO,” he explained on GTAForums. “That video clip is from May 2022. So that’s last year, and structural changes like increasing the max players limit need to be done much earlier.”
So it seems the online portion of GTA 6 will support 30 people, but that’s not all Tez has revealed about the next game.
In another comment, the source highlighted PS5 and Xbox Series console sales, remarking that now that more people own them, Rockstar will finally expose its hand.
“This is the year we should expect Rockstar to start revealing more info about the next GTA or maybe even start the marketing campaign,” the leaker remarked.
We’ll have to wait and see what the future brings, but for GTA 6 fans eager for critical news, let’s hope 2023 is the year we finally get some official information and even that reported trailer for the announcement.
So, it seems like GTA 6’s Online component will have 30 players, but that’s not everything that Tez had to say about the upcoming game.
