The Ramparts of Ice became popular among viewers because of its realistic portrayal of the social challenges and emotional struggles students face every day. After the success of the first season, the creators announced the renewal of the season 2.

Studio KAI confirmed that the new season will premiere on October 1, 2026. Director Mankyū will return to continue the story based on the remaining chapters of Kōcha Agasawa’s LINE manga.

The makers also shared a new poster, which was unveiled immediately after the 14th and final episode of the first season aired.

While Mankyu returns as the director, Yasuhiro Nakanishi will once again handle the series scripts. The main cast, including Anna Nagase (Koyuki Hikawa) and Shoya Chiba (Minato Amamiya), will also return to reprise their roles.

The anime The Ramparts of Ice is based on Kōcha Agasawa’s popular webtoon, which was released on the LINE Manga platform in 2020. The story is about Koyuki, a quiet high school girl who struggles to interact with others because she finds it difficult to communicate. Her life changes when she meets the cheerful and outgoing Minato, who helps her come out of her shell. Along with their friends Miki and Yota, the group faces the ups and downs of teenage life while learning to face their insecurities and build meaningful friendships.
