Cloud Nine: PS5 New Update To Bring Gaming To New Heights With Cloud Gaming Feature!

PS5 New Update: According to a current source, the PlayStation 5’s 7.00 update will add two significant capabilities to Sony’s console: full Discord integration and the capacity to stream PS5 games over the cloud. According to Insider Gaming, a public beta will be released soon.

The significant firmware update is presently planned for March 8, 2023. On the other hand, the beta won’t incorporate Discord integration for testing and will likely concentrate on the new capability to stream PS5 games over the cloud.

According to reports, PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers—the most expensive PlayStation Plus tier—are the only ones who can stream PS5 games. It has long been known that Sony wanted to connect PlayStation and Discord more closely.

In May 2021, Jim Ryan, president and chief executive officer of Sony, stated, “our teams are already hard at work combining Discord with your social and gaming experience on PlayStation Network.”

Ryan explained that the objective was to “enable friends, groups, and communities to hang out, have fun, and interact more simply while playing games together” on the two platforms.

It is already possible for PlayStation users to link their Discord accounts and display their PSN ID on their Discord profile, which also shows the time that PS4 or PS5 games are being played. It’s unknown exactly how Discord integration will operate on the PS5.

Still, it’s generally accepted that it will work similarly to how it does on Microsoft’s Xbox platforms, for which all users got full Discord integration back in September 2022. Users of Xbox can join Discord servers directly from their console and utilize it for voice communication.

Update 6.50 for the PS5 was released by Sony, including support for the brand-new DualSense Edge controller. The DualSense Edge, which will go on sale on January 26, is a controller that is comparable to the Xbox Elite controller in that it has adjustable sticks, mappable back buttons, and other features.
