Pokemon Go has introduced a new feature called Routes, which allows players to create and follow custom paths around their local areas. Routes can showcase the best spots to catch Pokemon, spin PokeStops, battle Gyms, or enjoy the scenery. To celebrate the launch of Routes, Pokemon Go is hosting a special event called Blaze New Trails, which features the debut of Zygarde, the Order Pokemon, and its different forms.
What Are Routes and How to Make Them?
Routes are a way to explore the world of Pokemon Go with the community’s help. You can create your own Route by selecting up to 10 PokeStops or Gyms on the map and giving your Route a name and a description. You can also choose whether to make your Route public or private.
Public Routes can be seen and followed by other players, while private Routes are only visible to you and your friends. To follow a Route, tap the Routes icon on the map and select a Route from the list. You can filter Routes by distance, popularity, or creator.
You can also search for Routes by name or location. Once you start following a Route, you will see a blue line on the map that connects the waypoints of the Route. You will also see a progress bar at the top of the screen that shows how many waypoints you have visited and how many are left.
What Are the Benefits of Following Routes?
Following Routes can give you various bonuses and rewards, such as:
- Earning Buddy Candy more quickly
- Attracting more Pokemon to your Incense
- Earning XP bonuses for completing Routes
- Earning Buddy Hearts for completing Routes with your buddy
- Earning Route Badges for completing Routes for the first time
