With Overwatch 2 being in the thick of Season 9 and its enormous adjustments, gamers are eagerly anticipating what Season 10 will bring us.
With a teaser from BlizzCon 2023 and many developer blogs, we already know that Overwatch 2’s newest DPS, the first since the introduction of Sojourn, is on the way, as well as significant adjustments to Competitive points and groups.
So long before it all starts, here’s everything you need to know about Overwatch 2 Season 10.
Overwatch 2 Season 10 Release Date
There is no set release date yet, however, the Season 9 Battle Pass timer indicates that it will be available on April 9, 2024.
This is not an official confirmation from Blizzard, but it matches Blizzard’s regular timeline, with each Season lasting around eight weeks. We will notify you when the developers confirm the date.
Overwatch 2 Season 10
New DPS Hero Venture
The developers confirmed at BlizzCon 2023 that Venture, Overwatch 2’s second DPS addition since Sojourn, will be released in Season 10.

Venture was still in its early phases at the time of the unveiling, with certain textures missing from its model and splash graphics based on concept art. However, we did get a glance at their skills and numbers.
With 200 health, it appears that they will acquire an additional 50HP protection while performing their drill dash attack, which includes the ability to tunnel into the earth and pop up.
Aside from that, nothing is known about Venture, since the developers have yet to reveal anything about their ultimate abilities. However, when additional information becomes available, we will provide an update here.
Competitive Points Changes
Season 9’s Competitive revamp saw the introduction of an overhauled Competitive Points system. However, the intricate method quickly confused many of the participants.

So, in response to community comments, the developers have indicated that adjustments will be implemented immediately.
“We’re working on the ability for players to buy Golden Weapons with the new, 2024 Competitive currency,” revealed Overwatch 2 director Aaron Keller.
“Currently planning on releasing the change in Season 10, but feel free to save up for Golden Weapons in the meantime!”
The developers have yet to announce what the modifications will be, but we will keep you updated here as we learn more.
Grouping Restrictions Removed
In a Director’s Take, it was stated that grouping limits would be lifted in Season 10, allowing you to five stacks more readily with pals.
“We’d like people to be able to play with their friends in every area of the game,” according to the blog post. “Groups with a broad range of player skill—what we term wide groups—will only compete against other wide groups. Narrow groupings will only be matched against other narrow groups.
