Do you enjoy playing tactical shooter games with intense firefights and challenging enemies? Rainbow Six Siege may have everything you’ve ever desired! It has been a popular game on PC, Google Stadia, and consoles such as the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Playing a game with your friends adds more excitement to the experience, which is why gamers are more interested in whether they can play Cross-platform or Crossplay.
Is Rainbow Six Siege Crossplay?
Rainbow Six Siege has gone seven years without Crossplay and cross-progression for console players since its release in December 2015. This is poised to change in the following few days, with Ubisoft bringing cross-progression and Crossplay to Rainbow Six Siege consoles.
Rainbow Six Siege crossplay and cross-progression across PC, Stadia, and Luna platforms was enabled in June 2021, with Ubisoft initially aiming to add Xbox and PlayStation users to this list by early 2022.
Despite significant delays, Ubisoft has now set players a timeframe for when console gamers will be able to connect to their accounts across platforms and team up with pals across a variety of console devices. This fantastic news comes just months after Rainbow Six Siege was finally made available on mobile.
This date is December 6, 2022, as revealed in the Rainbow Six Siege Year 7 Season 4 announcement. Rainbow Six Siege has long required Crossplay, and starting today, console players will be able to play alongside console users on other platforms, including voice chat.
Furthermore, user account data will now be uploaded to the cloud, allowing console users to play Rainbow Six Siege on a variety of platforms, including the Xbox One and PlayStation 5, all while using the same account.

This is a significant step toward making Rainbow Six Siege more accessible to console players. However, it should be noted that intentional matchmaking restrictions have separated console players and PC/Luna users into two separate pools due to the vastly different levels of difficulty associated with the two modes of play.
Along with these modifications to cross-progression and Crossplay for console users, Rainbow Six Siege’s year 7 season 4 adds a new Operator and map, as well as updates to the battle pass, anti-cheat, and ranked systems. Rainbow Six Siege will also use a new reputation system to combat intentional trolling.
With so many improvements planned, it is clear that Ubisoft intends to end the seventh year of Rainbow Six Siege in grand style. Suppose the newly announced crossover bringing NieR Replicant to Rainbow Six Siege wasn’t enough to entice gamers back into the game. In that case, the promise of cross-progression and Crossplay for consoles is incredibly appealing.
